I think that was Brett's influence. Not enough people give him credit for managing Cow Chop so well and knowing exactly what the company was meant to be. RT had such piss poor relations with all its branches bar Funhaus, which still isn't a compliment because Funhaus basically kicked RT's door open and forced them to put in effort to keep the relationship going (for the worse as we have seen), that they effectively just let channel's die due to negligence.

Its all to say that Brett could have made the executive decision to become an RT branch zombie channel, but ultimately understood that this was not what Alex and co wanted. Respecting their drive to move on and just burning the whole thing down in a blaze of glory was a far better move than what Funhaus and the rest are doing.

I wasnt the greatest fan of some of their final videos, but the last interview was a really sweet send off honestly. And hey, at least there is Offcanny now which essentially tries to do a sort of "discount jackass" schtick which i personally have found enjoyable, and James and Aleks seem to have a good thing going over at twitch on their respective channels. less stress and all that.
I contrast watched funhaus religiously and now i couldnt give less of a shit about what happened to the original crew post mortem, except the occassional glance over at Adam kovic's new channel to see what he is up to.

Brett and Aleks could have easily moved out of LA at the beginning of 2020, to a cheaper place, downsized and continued the channel, yet they didn't. They knew it was over when James left, they just needed to fulfill their responsabilities and then end it. I appreciate this choice a lot. Most of RT should take notes.

This was my assumption as well.

Geoff has been proven to be an absolute cuck when it comes to these things, and I think the insane wokies at RT probably take advantage of how he's a broken man but also a high level member of the company. With his breakdown on camera he essentially admitted he's easy to manipulate if you hold cancelling him above his head as a threat, and no-talent racebaiters like Ky and Fiona almost assuredly used that to get whatever they wanted out of him.

I'm glad they admitted that Aleks and James as a duo were the entire selling point of the channel. They probably saw that with James' departure the channel was doomed to at best stagnate and at worst be a repeat of The Creatures.

I could maybe understand this sentiment two years ago when there was still a lot of unknowns about the coof, but Christ almighty is it getting tiresome to hear people discussing it like it's super cancer ebolAIDS. Especially now when the dreaded OmIcRoN variant is little more than a cold, even to the unclean.

On the other hand, if you work for such a woke place as modern RT and you want to take a break for a week or two, then hey, claim you've got the 'rona, cough a bit into your phone, and boom, they'll leave you alone until you're "better." I'm not saying that's what happened here, but I'm sure this has crossed the minds of more than a few people to take advantage of the panic while they can.

He wishes for a Twitch career as well, and I believe that if he and Elyse drop out of FH as of right now and hop on Twitch alongside Bruce and Lawrence, they might get some of that old chemistry back. And fuck Adam, I'm rewatching Armitage's Funhaus compilations and more often than not I see Adam sabotaging gameplay videos out of boredom (Rento Fortune, Civ6, and so on), it might be funny the first time you see it, but then it gets really obnoxious.

Looking at the LP channel, their videos do seem to get a consistent 100k views, with the occasional breaking 200k (I have to note their 500th Mineccraft special hasn't even broken 200k yet.) with most of the 200k view videos coming at minimum 3 months ago.

Whereas if you wind back the clock, basically every top rated video is from at minimum 5 years ago, with a majority being from the Ray era and all of them smashing 1 million views easily. Hell sort by oldest and all of those, even the Lets Builds are breaking 600K easily. Are there some underperformers? Yeah but its shit like full plays of Resident Evil revelations.

People wonder why the phrase "diversity" gets mocked so often and its because of no talent chuds like Ky who use it as a shield to deflect criticism. Not to mention if you get down to it, the OG AH was pretty diverse. Geoff being a high school dropout from Alabama, Jack being a college educated liberal from Austin, Gavin from the UK with his film background, Micheal from Jersey with an electricians background and Ray from new york who worked at Gamestop. Plenty of difference in background and upbringing there.

This intrigued me a little, so I wanted to see if I could find a service that can check website traffic. There are some, but all they do is just give you an estimate of how many users visit the RT site.

Seems like most of their traffic comes from direct links I believe, unless I misunderstand what "direct" means. Anyway, seems like most people don't actively search for RT.

And for the small amount of visist they gain from their social media, over half of it comes from YouTube.
