I know there are a lot of true believers out there who swallow all the propaganda whole, but how many more instances of seeing this exact same scenario/message is it going to take for the rest to start questioning the point of getting jabbed over and over when they keep on catching it and it's a nothingburger? If I had to guess I'd say that and also the continued malice he's received from the current admin and the left have soured him against even trying to negotiate in good faith anymore. The /r/politics crowd is already screeching about how this was all some master plan by Manchin to delay Biden but it really looks to me like Manchin is just standing firm and the admin has tried every way in the world to get him to agree other than actually meeting his negotiations.
I started following Manchins Facebook page and holy shit every post he makes gets inundated within seconds by bot accounts posting the same copypasta garbage pro-BBB along with a lot of true believer golems talking shit about west Virginia, the dude can't even post a simple feel good thing about a school program or a happy birthday without them jumping on it and trying to turn it political while maintaining the attitude that all west virginians are drug addicted inbred white trash. To say that isn't sitting well with west virginians, aka the people who actually vote for WV politicians and control Manchins political future, is an understatement.
