Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

the mask is a VERY visible symbol that things are not going back to normal.
They can think that all they want and the news can push "The New Normal" narrative all they want, but people are clearly sick and tired of the whole mask thing in general. Fucking outside looks like a dystopian nightmare full of Ninja wannabes that are prevented from doing basic shit in public, like BREATHING IN NATURAL AIR!

And what is it you think should happen? For everything to suddenly become better overnight? I fail to see your point here really, unless its an attempt to rile me? Mostly just confused.

You are either ignoring the fact that many good things have happened and things are on track to go well. Or you are trying to claim none of it matters. The first is silly and the second is defeatist. Neither is really rooted in reality.
Gahanna you don't understand. Ignoring everything positive and/or hand waving it away and acting as if shit not getting better overnight is proof it never will is just Lorne being """""a realist.""""""

Hell, let me talk some actual white pills. I know I have some sort of reputation here for them, but mostly it's me pointing out the less terrible side of a bunch of bad news. So let's actually white pill.
This all sounds to me like they've accidentally destroyed their whole "Election Fortification" infrastructure. Wonder how long it will take them to build it up from scratch again.

They... kinda did. It's not the whole thing, or even most of it, but it is some key components. The thing is, they have been doing this for ages by always making it small. Enough to nudge over a few key races in purple states and to secure their own power in blue states. It nudged the numbers but never pushed them.

2020 was less pushing and more running a truck into them.

And the problem with that is it both paints a massive target on the ways it was done and provides a lot of reasons for the public to want it done. It doesn't end up dismantling their electoral machine but it definitely sets it back by... decades. Buying time.

And that's the name of the game right now. Buying time. The Republicans are not yet a force to actually fight with. It's coalescing, growing in strength, growing in a desire to act. But it's not there yet. And it won't really be in a shape or position to for... three years minimum, more likely past the next president.

So, buying time. Giving the Republicans breathing room to be able to change from a whimpering pup to a vicious wolf. Things so far are on track, trucking along towards it. But not there yet, with plenty that can go wrong, and always needing more time.

You know if anyone goes on daily wire and look at the latest articles for Meghan McCain. You go on the comment section and you find comments after comments of conservatives piss off that they keep making pointless articles of her and calling her conservative. It really makes me happy. Because honestly Meghan McCain should not even be referred to as conservative for voting for someone like Biden.

The Arch-RINOs will be casualties of that attempted shift. I feel safe using more definitive language. Whether the quieter RINOs get the boot is a separate question, but your McCains and Romneys are not going to remain much longer as central pillars.

Sadly, I doubt they will ever fully go away though.

It's ifs because it has not happened. Do you want me to speak in Whens as if I have a crystal ball with which I can positively determine the future?

Things are on a good track, but only a fool says what -will- happen, for chaos is always a thing.

This is but one of the things on a good track. A renewed interest by younger Republicans in the process and a worry for its sanctity. The ones who were watching the polls back in 2020 were almost universally the older generation who had been carrying that torch far too long. And they were running out. Now there is much more, and they are highly paranoid.

Remember all the articles bitching about Republican poll watchers challenging everything? Remember how -bitter- they were over that?

They were bitter for a reason, and for at least the next two decades this issue is -done-.

Digital voting? Dead. No further pushes will be made on that for decades and even some blue states are quietly nudging away from them. While it won't be rid of entirely, it is entirely expected to see a lot more security go into them or to even nudge away entirely.

Mail-in voting? Super dead. No red or purple state wants anything to do with it. We could have the Black Plague 2: Electric Boogaloo going and red states would refuse. Nobody liked how fucked it made the system and made everyone else look. Some super blue states are going to keep it, for obvious reasons, but anything with even a slight tinge of purple knows the very idea of it is poison to the electorate.

Voting laws? The ones making it stricter are -very- likely to stand. Notice how you have heard absolutely jack and shit about the Attorney General's lawsuits against the states for implementing it? Despite the fact multiple other major issues,m started before those, have already come and gone in front of the courts? That's because they are locked up in hell because the AG is doing everything he can to slow the process since he knows he will lose. Its pure delay to stop the floodgates, and is finite.

Voting laws 2? The big federalization bill? Notice how all the latest news on Manchin and Sinema doesn't mention their opposition to the voting bill, but their opposition to the filibuster rule? You go after the most manageable issue first. This means that the Democrats believe 'altering the filibuster' is the easier task than budging Manchin and Sinema. Why would this be? Well, because it's not just Manchin and Sinema. A -lot- of Democrats do in fact remember, very painfully, how changing the Senate rules over judicial nominees came back to bite them -hard-. And it's a bit too late to now implement the voting rights bill and have it in effect and past the courts before the midterms. It would be handing the Republicans both Congress and the ability to nuke them to hell and back. The voting rights bill is -dead-.
You've become the Q of A&N. Your word is treated pretty much as gospel by most people here.

Please do not. I can safely say I can and have been wrong in the past. I am a fallible human being.

Treat everything I say with at least some skepticism. Even beyond my base fallibility, keep in mind that outside of Wisconsin I don't have much if any data. I am basing this analysis off second-hand accounts mixed with only small bits of more solid info. Garbage in, garbage out. If the info is bad, the analysis will be bad.

Never said I did, just saying my perception of how people view your posts.

Still it shows that the majority conservative base do not care for the McCains and Mitt Romney. They Just wish they would fuck off since they betrayed everything they claim to stand for. I'm sure many that are angry once voted for McCain and Romney. So the anger is real.

But honestly Mehgan McCain should stop calling herself a conservative since she will never win majority of Republican voters again. Since they openly despise Biden. She honestly should have just said she wouldn't surpport any candidate in 2020. She could have came out a little better.

I understand, which is why my response was less phrased towards you and more as a general statement. You will never catch me high on my own farts. I have seen too many times what happens when someone who is good at analysis begins to think they cannot make a bad call.

Mehgan is very, very angry at her own voters for what happened when her old man died. Everything John McCain had built up came crashing down and his machine in Arizona was in the process of being slowly dismantled. His entire legacy was being erased in front of her eyes.

You say sadly, but I do think there's an upside. Political opportunists in your ranks do provide a weather vane of "are we moving in a sustainable direction" over ideological alignment. Its exceedingly difficult to try and ensure ideological consistency at their core, but quiet RINO's backing populists out of necessity to retain power is a good indicator of where the winds are shifting, and losing that is a sign that something is going wrong.

If you can't get rid of the opportunists, you can at least try and capitalize on what they represent and what they see, right.

I should clarify, I agree with you on the base opportunists. I say sadly for specifically the Arch-RINOs. They are lightning rods for the RINOs to back and will remain a painful thorn in the side of any possible Trumpian Republican party for a long time. Eager to slide the knife in whenever and wherever they can.

Weird seeing this new radicalized Tucker because during 2017-2018 he was lapping up Sessions, going after Trump for criticizing him and doing one-on-one specials about his drug busts.
Is there any sign Tuck would be against Sessions now? Because I think it’s still a popular belief with a section of right wing Twitter people to believe Sessions did nothing wrong and that usually gets reflected on Tucker’s show. Calling out Cruz is a fairly easy move that doesn’t involve needing to do a ton of research, just need to check what Twitter people are complaining about and go with that.

Ah, yes. Well, its an inevitability whatever way the winds shift. Short of executions and violent upheaval, you've just gotta outlive the old powers being replaced, right? Its pretty clear its not about wealth for these people (Not anymore, at least) so you can't really buy them off and retire them. Just let them run their fiefdom into the ground while minimizing the collateral.

The feeling seems to be mutual. Form the two sides. But I can tell lately Meghen is trying to burn some bridges. But it's too late

The less publicized story of Youngkin's win over McAuliffe is the fact that for the first time in years the VA level GOP had their shit together and there was a record number of poll watchers and new election department volunteers. Even if the national level Republicans are too feckless to call out electoral abuse on the national stage, there are literally millions of people on the ground who have not forgotten and are now watching their districts like hawks.
This is why the MSM and spooks are pushing the "Bannon is a threat to our democracy and his podcast must be removed from every platform in existence" narrative. He has worked very hard to push his (admittedly large) audience into poll watching and running for local office as an anti-fortification strategy. And it may be working. That worries the DNC to no end and they're throwing everything at the wall to poison the well and deplatform the voice that's hitting them where it hurts most.

Too bad it makes them sound insane because the vast majority of people don't know really who Bannon is or that he has a podcast or that his podcast has a lot of listeners. It seems to me that their efforts in this regard just combine in normies' minds with the efforts to deplatform people like Rogan, and nobody whose mind isn't already rotten thinks the attacks on Rogan are being done in good faith. It seems like a strategy pushed by people who've been in DC too long and who have no understanding of popular culture among average joes, which is probably the case.

It wouldn't be an election year if Bernie wasn't trying to resurrect his 2016 fanbase.
Bernie has to get the money to buy house 2,569

Our job is to analyze current events, determine how it affects our employer, and report as such.

That has to be easy for the guys working for the Dems. "You are fucked..now give us a million dollars for telling you the obvious."
