Do any of the EFAP members care about Star Trek though?

I know that a fair amount of the people they have on do but I don't think the hosts actually watch anything that isn't normie as fuck, all the sci-fi shit in their recommended movies are ones that are incredibly mainstream and popular and if they were Trek fans it's inconcievable that they wouldn't at least put Wrath of Khan on that list. They seem to hold the stereotypical normie opinion that live action media is the only visual medium of any worth despite the fact that they have no knowledge of the artform beyond the basic superficialities and that their audience (along with a decent amount of people that they associate with) are actual nerds who read comics, watch cartoons and generally have a better grasp on "nerd media" than they do. It's why they hate the adaptation argument so much, because they don't consider the source material to be of any value compared to the "serious and mature" medium that they like. Hell, they don't even have Robocop on their recommended film list.
I think the EFAP guys don't know or care much about Star Trek outside of maybe the JJ ones. I think if they ever talked about Star Trek it's only to bitch about "muh identity politics" and everything going "woke". I think MauLer said he is a fan of Doctor Who, but I don't recall him ever talking about it without the troon on.

Mauler’s personal favorite interests seem to be Marvel and Star Wars. Most of the other nerd stuff he covers like DC, Star Trek, Doctor Who, etc. seem to be secondary to him. Most of the time other members of the cast like Jay, Meme Repository, and Fringy seem to be more interested and knowledgeable on those franchises.

I think outside of a few things, it's all general fandom menace grifting. "Wow, I can't believe they did that to.... ugh... That Star Trek guy. How could they?! Troon, tell us more about what they did to Doctor Who."
It's amazing he doesn't want to milk that shit the same way he does Star Wars and Everything Marvel. I'm shocked they didn't do Hawkeye.

Honestly the only YouTube Critics that are worth the respect are Red Letter Media.

Also don't understand the Fandom Menace hatred of MCU Spiderman.
It's a different version of Spiderman but unique to the MCU just like the various different Batmen over the years.

It also showed Spiderman outside his usual habitat of Manhatten NYC.

Homecoming - he fights in Queens, the suburbs, Washington Monument and the skies.
Far From Home - he fights in Venice, Prague, Berlin and London.
No Way Home - he fights at power lines, Mirror Dimension, a bridge/freeway and the Statue of Liberty plus an apartment block.

Still Awesome.

EFAP LOVES MCU Spider-Man. But yeah, the rest are fucking retards too.

Nerdrotic and Geeks and Gamers hate it. Same with Shadiversity.

Also Mauler must be living off the welfare state and making money on Patreon. It's the only way to afford his lifestyle.
He could be, but if he just sits in his room all day I think he makes enough to get by with just his paypig cash.

I disagree on RLM, but that hardly matters.

As for the Fandom menace dislike of MCU Spiderman, it mostly comes down to Iron Boy. Or in short, they felt that in Homecoming, the strengths of Peter Parker as a character (namely how he causes a lot of his own problems and has to grow and mature from them, making him one of the most relatable everyman characters in Western entertainment despite being a superhero) were put aside in favor of making him Iron Man's sidekick. Some members of the F.M. were won over in Far From Home when they used Tony's death to build Peter's character, but others saw that as a continuation of what they didn't like.

By comparison, most of the DC films portray Batman as a stealthy and brutal vigilante. This is derived heavily from his original, core characterization. The films rarely if ever bring up the detective or double life angle, but benefit from focusing on the elements they do. MCU Spiderman could be Gwen Stacey or Miles Morales and you wouldn't need to change all too much, since the defining traits of Peter Parker in the Spiderman Mythos don't define this Spiderman.

Also, a lot of them don't care for Tom Holland's performance. Regardless, I think there's merit to not liking the choices the MCU made with Peter and Aunt May (whom I left out of this answer for brevity's sake).

However, a majority of people don't mind this, accept it, and move on. If you go looking for a while, you might find people who prefer MCU Spiderman (although finding those who prefer it for reasons other than Tom Holland being cute and/or having yaoi fantasies with Peter and other characters might take some time). The Fandom Menace only collectively represents Star Wars, and even then only represents that the Disney-Era was not well thought out and George Lucas at his worst was still much better at handling both the brand and the story (something anyone who isn't high on Mickey Mouse pixie-dust could tell you). Outside of that, they're just a group of people who hang out on discord and in podcasts while giving their opinions on mainstream entertainment. Nothing more, nothing less.

Maybe , but mostly cause they dont take themselves seriously at all
so they're like the anti-efap i guess
They are anti-EFAP in that they almost never have a review be over an hour, stick to the movie, and are not uptight assholes that think they know everything because they grew up on gay nerd products.

I was wondering, if now EVEN EFAP seems to think the Star Wars and Marvel well is drying up, what's next for them to go over until the next Avengers comes out? There's not really anything out there that "everyone is watching" like GoT that they can milk the last few episodes out of. Maybe Witcher?

Nothing. Much Like the reviews that spawned it, EFAP came out at the right time and was not awful enough to be background noise. The media landscape it was made from has died of COVID-19, and MauLer will do literally nothing to fix this. We're watching it die slowly from neglect in terms of relevance, with only the handful of paypigs keeping it on life support. Expect them to react to literally every movie they're willing to watch and overreact to any video they don't 100% agree with, as that's all they have and is apparently all their bank accounts fans need.

They deserve what they pay for. I feel bad for those just waiting for reviews that aren't coming, as I bet for a lot of them this is the first time something like this has happened to them: a content creator actively failing to live up to promises while assuring them that the mystery box has what they're donating for. For us, it's a story we can recite from memory. For them? It might very well be a tragedy in real-time.

Don't feel bad for them. If they have not learned by now, they were born to be a sucker. Don't you have to be at least 18 to give money on all their platforms? So being a dumb 14 yo or whatever should not be a thing.

No one is born to be a sucker, you have to either be taught or have learned from first-hand experience with anything. But more importantly, becoming 18 doesn't magically answer the world for you. Quite the opposite, if anything. You're still just a really old teenager at that point, just now legally allowed to make a lot of bad decisions. I absolutely feel bad for people who were never taught financial responsibility. Combine that with how, as we've said collective here several times, EFAP is intentionally or not a friendship simulator, and it's hard for me to not feel sad for people throwing money at nothing while being convinced.

They're not innocent and I stand by saying they deserve what they pay for, but you don't have to be innocent to get empathy. A bunch of late high school and early college students having a lot of their spending cash being thrown to someone who can't even review the most consumer-friendly Star Wars movie ever because they're convinced it's that hard to make or he just works that hard? Really depressing sight if ya ask me.

In MauLer's limited defense, videos do take a long time. You'd be surprised how long these things can take. I think the real question is "why didn't MauLer just make the whole series and release it when it's done" like he used to do? Ironically enough, his channel has gone through more hibernation periods than before he was e-famous while having less to show for it in terms of content.

Also, congrats on reaching 300 pages, MauLer. You'll catch up to Quinton Reviews in no time (currently only 26 pages behind him. Come on, buddy - I'm rooting for ya!)

What an ugly, vague, and shitty screenshot. YouTube use to have time limits for videos. I wish they were back because it forced more people to think about how to use their time when making a video. Here's a crazy idea, if you're video is going to be so long, maybe put out PARTS of it every month or so and have each part be around at least 20 minutes?

I don't recall if it's been really talked about here, but part of the reason MauLer sucks cock as an editor and takes forever with his videos is that he feels the need to put in so many of the same "HAHA FUNNY WITTY" clips over and over. Take a shot every time you see the EXACT SAME little clip of Obi-Wan or Jar Jar in his last like 5 Star Wars videos. MauLer seems to think just having the screen play straight B-roll or be some kind of static image is illegal. I'll chalk it up to HYPER AUTISM!

Come on. You know how hard it is to stalk other creators for having bad takes, man!
It's his part time job, after all

Can we get a crossover? The Kiwi Farm Lolcow Universe, the KFLU if you will.

He made the Snyder Cut video in 12 days which was 2 hours long (RIGHT as it came out). He made the Black Widow video in a month, and that was over 4 hours long. When he's passionate he can definitely churn out content, but ONLY when he's passionate, which is why the TFA series is perpetually stuck in development hell (among other projects).

Funny you say that, since Quinton made EFAP indirectly - it was through him MauLer and Rags properly met. So Quinton Reviews indirectly gave MauLer's relevance a terminal illness known as EFAP. I don't know whether to laugh, cry, or slowly clap in mockery.

The thing about passion is that it doesnt come and go depending entirely on whether your wallet is drying up and whether there is some big dick movie coming out with a lot of attention to it. An artist doodles, a musician jams, an fantasy author writes nonsense lore.
if nothing else you'd expect the occassional unscripted "unbridled rage/praise" inbetween the longform reviews, where he just talks about stuff he likes or stuff he has watched... like all the other reviewers on youtube who claim to give a shit about film. Or talk about video games, or comics, or literally anything to vaguely justify the number of paypigs he got.
And that is ultimately what makes him look like such a poser. Does he actually give a shit about movies and moviemaking? or is it just "hey, this is popular, imma hop on this".
