One of the reasons for the pilot shortage is that many kids got an ADD diagnosis and that's more or less disqualifying if you got medicated.

One of the license requirements says "of good moral character."

I think the issue is that a lot of people have situations where they'll look back on things they did 5 years ago and go "oh my god, I'm so embarrassed" but then they simply move on or learn from it after the little pang of shame but for some reason trannies don't seem to react in the same way.
