Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

It is a bit weird that he hasn't given his guards armour yet. Maybe he finds them being naked funny.
Cheap budget. They just recycled the same gamorrean costumes from mando season 2 which somehow look less believable than the ones made in the 80s. These ones don't even have gloss to simulate sweat or spittle.
Please tell me this isn't fucking real
Search your feelings. You know it to be true.

I'll keep my money going forward. If I wanted to watch ANH, then I would have watched ANH, not ANH with a Disney Mary Sue princess with added lens flare.

I saw someone sum up nu-Boba as a Mass Effect player compulsively choosing Paragon because “it’s the good choice” rather than what’s logical to the situation.

Fitting, since the writing is up there with present day BioWare.
Least it's consistent with Mando's "get a sidequest" type of storytelling. Boba really needs to pull his finger out if he's going to be the Daimyo though, this shit won't fly on Tatooine.

Fett: Shand, get me teenagers with attitude!

That looks so out of place, I hate it. I really hate it.

Also why do they always create new shit in established places. Getting caught up on this thread it appears they are changing the cities/towns of Tatooine and their sizes. Use things we have specifically heard of, where is Anchorhead? Show that. Where is Fort Tuskin?

Is that big city supposed the be Bestine?

I enjoyed this episode a lot more. I know people are bitching about how out of his depth boba is, but I like how he's gradually getting a better understanding of the situation and most importantly, more dudes on his payroll. If he doesn't start kicking ass and taking names in the next one your arguments will be perfectly valid however.

Now granted his flunkies are lot more colorful then Id like, but I do think its cool how they have a 40k kind of look to em. And before people say that doesnt fit star wars, I rather liked how it was implemented in the old republic MMO and the comic character Grand moff trachta

I also like how they addressed all the complaints here, about how Bib was able to maintain his power for so long against the huts. He had a series of interlocked alliances set up and the huts were too greedy to seriously pursue an expensive conflict. Now it looks like Boba has to aggressively clean house.

Episode 3 was utter shit

In the past Boba Fat tries to bribe the fish people for protection money, gets cucked, and finds out that the Tuscans were 1488'd

In the future, Boba Fat gets disrespected by a water merchant, meets some teens with attitude (and pimp my ride style sparkling purple speeders), and gives them a job after the teen girl calls him a fat old man. He gets arse raped by 'jogger' Chewie, and saved by the teens and chinky pox woman.
Then there is the slowest 'car chase' I have seen. The 'speeders' moved at the pace of a snail superglued to a techtonic plate and the CGI looked like it was done in 3DMax by a 1st year art student.

Basically, Boba fat isn't tough, isn't clever, isn't respected, and isn't doing anything.

Oh, and the Hutts give him a pet Rancor called Lassy who he really loves and wants to 'ride'.

Nigga, I just saw a bald samoan in Boba Fett cosplay recruit cyborg zoomers riding vespas.

As retarded as it is, it’s worth shitposting about.

I was out when they decanonized the EU. Never saw TFA. "Banana Time" was the most of the movie I watched. Get on my level.

I saw TFA, was pretty sure what it was going to be like, was correct, and realized Disney Star Wars just wasn't going to be for me. And then later did see Rise of Skywalker with my family at Christmas just cause it was a fun family thing to do. And it was better than I expected but that's because I had the absolute worst expectations and was just able to enjoy it as a dumb action movie.

Reactions: The Decimator
So I reached a pretty big milestone in my revisit of the EU(really, so far it's been more of a new trek through it. I'm pretty sure I've listened to 2x as many books from this era than I read as I child). I just finished the Hand of Thrawn Duology and Survivor's Quest. As usually I'll sperg out in a wall of text that I'll hide in spoilers for those that don't care, but over all Hand of Thrawn is a bloated mess that has a lot of good elements it almost makes a bad experience out of. Survivor's Quest is an almost completely throw away story that was the worst Abridgment yet.

These two books were fucking LONG. Between the 2 of them, it was 40 hours of Audio books{Visions of the Future was 26 HOURS. For reference, the Thrawn trilogy was about 44 hours. And man does it feel it. These books were a DRAG. Which is kind of a shame, there are good ideas in here.
  • I think the fake Thrawn Triumvirate is well written, and does an interesting job of showing three people with their own unique talents trying to fake Thrawn's genius by the seat of their pants and with the aid of their enemies assumptions.
  • Mara and Luke's side story is extremely long, and I think it is just to justify them coming out of the book engaged and to have it not feel rushed(also JESUS CHRIST like almost ever other love interest of Luke's it an all of the sudden force driven acceleration to full love, it's not as bad as say Castilla or whoever from the Dark Emprie comics, but at this point I'm sensitive to it.)
  • The sabotage of the Bothan planetary shield also has a lot of time dedicated to it. It's not bad but in an already bloated story it's something that definitely could of been trimmed. Especially since it's a story driven pet peeve of my where our hero's involvement actually makes the situation enormously worse but it isn't acknowledged. I find it distracting when a catastrophe occurs only because our protagonist got involved, but there is not consequence of it. Wedge, Corran, and based crime granny's investigation of the sabotage of the Bothan Shield Generator results in forcing them to drop the shield three days early. Had they not been there at all, the events at Yaga Minor would of resolved the conflict, and not resulted in a mass casualty event on the Bothan capital. From my assessment of Star Wars capital ship weaponry, were talking 9/11 x100 for multiple capital ship turbolaser blasts into a very dense population center.
  • Talon Karrde's is another subplot that bloats this story with out being bad. I guess it fleshes out his character well.
  • This book feels a lot like its Zahn reviewing the rest of the EU at that point, which makes it a nice endcap for this era. IIRC there are shots fired at the reborn Emporer, Photon Torpedoes being used as anti-fighter weapons, Admiral Daala, Lando/Mara ship, Kyp Durron, and a few others that I can't recall. On the other hand, there are a few things he clearly appreciated, largest being Corran Horn who I feel is the best written he's ever been in these books.
  • I couldn't find much behind the scenes talk about these books, but to me it really feels like(especially with the title "Visions of the Future") that this was a set up to something like the NJO, but the threat coming out of the Unknown Regions instead of outside the galaxy. I think around here is when the publisher changed and the NJO was the brain child of Del Ray(?). I wonder if Bantam had something like it in the works that Del Ray changed up into their own thing.
  • Overall, these books are much weaker than the Thrawn trilogy. There is a lot of good ideas, good character work, but it feels like it was one book and like 6 short stories crammed together.
This is kind of an exception to this "era" in that it's written post NJO. It's a companion piece to Tatooine Ghost(which was a Han and Leia adventure husband/wife adventure.) It's sort of a prequel to telling the story of the Outbound flight(Zahn specifically wanted to do it like the original Star Wars where the first story is after the main event where mysteries are set up from the past before going back and explaining). It's fine, Mara is the best written I've encountered her so far, I actually don't like Zahn's depiction of her in Thrawn, and it's only moderately better in Hand of Thrawn. The abridgement of this is extremely brutal, completely cutting out the epilogue that sets up Clone Thrawn Zahn wanted to write(that I'm glad he never did). It actually ends jarringly abruptly after a not climatic end of a space battle with no resolution at all.

I have a lot of thoughts of this "New Republic Era" of books that I'll probably save for another post. It'll probably be a while before I move on to the NJO, I do want to revisit Young Jedi Knights, which I'll do on ebooks on my phone once I can find them. I don't know how long it'll take me to get through those, could burn them up, could take a while.

I feel insulted just having wasted bandwidth sailing the high seas for this garbage so i can't imagine how it feels for the cretins who actually paid for it. Three episodes in and the best part of the show is the end-credits theme - Is it really that hard to wear a fucking helmet, growl out one word sentences and shoot people. Our two main leads are hardened mercenaries -every episode should be about them taking a job for money where Man-booba and Asian Milf get double-crossed, while trying to double-cross one another, and it all ends in a John Woo teahouse shootout. And then for the season finale you get CGI Lee Van Cleef to show up as the corrupt town sheriff who robs them blind and provides the plot-hook for season 2.
So can we get to the part where Ming Na infiltrates the Hutt's home base dressed in a bikini please?

You guys are smarter than me. I was really hyped for TFA, then I saw it and was extremely disappointed. Seeing the praise it got made me feel like I was going crazy, but I had hoped that TLJ would at least improve upon it because I bought into the "just wait until the next one" mindset the delusional fanboys had back then. I saw Rouge One in theaters and thought it sucked apart from the last act. Then I saw TLJ and swore I would never see another new Star Wars film in theaters again. I knew that after seeing TLJ that they had no idea what they were doing and I knew that JJ was going to completely fuck up Episode 9 in the face of the fans saying that he wouldn't. It's fun being proven right.
And it was better than I expected but that's because I had the absolute worst expectations and was just able to enjoy it as a dumb action movie.
But that's the thing though, Star Wars (at least the good Star Wars) was never just some dumbass action movie, it has something to say and actual thought put into it. That's why I think people claiming JJ Trek (which were dumb action flicks) is more like SW than the PT don't know what they're talking about. They just see it as a bunch of flashy special effects and loud noises without any substance.
I will agree that TROS is the closest to being "so bad it's good" because of how absolutely retarded it is.

I'm just enjoying that I keep 40 minutes of my life by just watching people either sob in pain as they continue to consoom the rat poison, justifying that it's free, or delusionally try to justify why they made a good decision and are enjoying pirating it rather than watching literally anything else and getting blown away by something a gajillion times better.

Mainly because now I know that Dave's gonna shove in all his mobster OCs in this turd.

Don’t watch or pay for it but still participate in the shitposting?

Based, that’s the proper approach.

Since Boba's clearly building a clique, do we reckon that Wookie will come back to help him out? The female Tusken (who most likely got away with the child) is also a possibility.
