Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Quinnipac's poll singlehandedly brought Biden's approval rating down 0.8% on 538's chart.

There's that trend line @Gehenna mentioned. Kind of a corkscrew into the bedrock really.

I believe it was Gehenna who said that if a poll's showing an approval rating below high 30s, it means that muscle is being teared into and (so it's implied) the core base of apologists is starting to become eroded.

I'm less curious about the Biden numbers as I am that only 54% say that the economy is getting worse.

I think that number's because a lot of people still believe the economy would fix itself if not for Covid. i.e. they're reading that question and think that this current shitshow is just a temporary thing.

At some point, sooner than we expect I think, the powers that be in the DNC are going to have to make one of two decisions:

Back off just in case the GOP gains access to the new toys they keep trying to get.
Try and make sure the GOP isn't ALLOWED to gain access (read: win an election) ever again so they can't get access to those wonderful toys.

I think it's largely based on household income. Some people shrug when chicken goes up 50 cents a pound, some people get really damn nervous about their finances.

These polls certainly make me laugh, but nothing happens in a vacuum. There is a reason for these numbers to be released as they are. They are not as clever as they think they are and are always way to obvious. This is all just serving to build the case for getting rid on Brandon.

What happens if Democrats lose in 2024?

I don’t mean “What if Republican-controlled legislatures override the results of the presidential election?” or even a less noxious “What if a Republican wins the electoral college but loses the popular vote?” I mean, what if Democrats just … lose?

One can imagine Republicans building a working majority by picking up larger minorities of Hispanic and Asian voters, while winning back some educated White voters angry about school closures or worried about crime. That’s a possibility the left needs to prepare for.

I can see the Republicans closing the gap in the popular vote significantly, simply by flipping Independents and then disillusioned Democrats just not showing up.

If the Republicans tie the popular vote, they win the Electoral College like 360-180 or something ridiculous. They win California, New York, Hawaii, D.C., some smaller northeast states, and not much else.

As someone that actually has seen the Jim Gaffigan Show, I admitted that he at one point nailed the slice of life comedy trope pretty well. He’s no George Carlin, but it’s very weird to see him get über political as of late.

He was also the same person that didn’t mind Andrew Cuomo or Bill de Blasio being guilty of committing crimes that affected their own citizens in NYC because in his mind, “at least they have good hearts”.

Just in case you were unaware, I crunched some numbers. New York state as a whole was +23 for Biden, but Upstate (a.k.a. everything except NYC) was only +2 for Biden. So Upstate was already split 51-49 in November 2020. Upstate itself has to be -5 by now at least and climbing. Combine that with an NYC exodus, and I can see New York state being legit purple in 2024.

Hell, New Jersey almost flipped in 1 year. New Jersey was +16 for Biden, then in 2021 the Dem governor incumbent only won by 3.

One of the things "The Trump Curse" effected was stand-up comics. It made them so fucking insufferable and unfunny and acted like they had a free pass to bash on the guy and just use the "It's Comedy" line as a "get out of jail free" card from criticism. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you SHOULDN'T make fun of Trump, but if you're going to at least put in some fucking effort instead of having low brain-dead takes to the point where you look evil/retarded/both. There's a reason why the meme "TRUMP, AMIRITE?!?!" was a thing.

They are aware. Much the same effort is going on, quietly, here in Wisconsin. The Democrats are very aware its happening, very much dislike it, but... can't really do anything about it.

That kind of mass training effort requires two things.
1: Volunteers.
2: Money

You need the volunteers to take the classes, sign up for the positions, put their name on the papers, and take time out of their days to do it. The Democrats don't have anyone who can fill out those roles in any sort of numbers. Their most hardcore supporters who are young and could sign up are either A: LAzy as fuck and don't want to do more effort than a retweet or; B: Antifa types who really, really want to maintain anonymity.

And money? They are flat broke for anything that isn't immediately, terribly important. While I can't talk specifics for Wisconsin, just look at somewhere else this is happening. Arizona. Massive push for new poll watchers there, funded both by the state and federal level Republican parties. And the Democrat response? Nothing, The federal side can't subsidise it because they spent far too much and have yet to recoup anything from the 2020 election. State side spent far too much battling the election probe and securing their own asses, and also paid a lot for 2020.

They have no men or money, and now that they -need- it, they deeply regret it.

That's probably why the dems are so upset lately. Their loyal followers can only retweet and act like that's doing alot of helping. And can't get as active in ground work like Republican voters.
