Sam Hyde

I wonder for how long the same people are going to keep redirecting the conversation to the same points over and over without adding anything new. I'm excluding @SilenceIsViolence from that since I respect them elaborating on their position instead of just throwing out obviously butthurt insults, by no means is criticizing Sam unfair, but I don't get why some people can't see that they come off as just seething and upset that they won't be able to get everyone to agree with them. If the thread is indeed full of retards then getting MATI seems a waste of time, let alone for like a week straight....
some people are made very uncomfortable by the grey areas that inevitably exist when you look at the world through black and white, and most people's behaviors can fit into categories broadly enough to give satisfaction in black-and-white thinking. but sam has always gone out of his way to make sure that his entire existence and persona exists within a space that many people do not know what to do with, and he revels in that uncertainty. it's not that he's an edgelord, or a provacateur, he's like some kind of homunculus purpose crafted to cause as much confusion as possible and most people here cannot fathom that someone would do things to purposefully make themselves look bad simply because it's funny

I mean, it's two pictures next to the guy and a bunch of text from discord, 4chan, and messages directly to and from sam hyde himself.
Can you even get more rock-solid evidence than that? For god's sake, it's been posted around for like five years, it's basically supreme court precedent.

Pretty sure 'discord screenshot' is at least used as objective evidence beyond a reasonable doubt in court cases.
I'm supposed to take out of context discord screenshots as evidence? You know how easy it is to edit those? We've literally seen that exact shit happen here on the Farms to fuck with people.

Just to be clear I didn't even know who Sam was until a few days ago. But just looking at a Discord screenshot and taking it at face value without any other supporting evidence other than some cropped photos of a fat girl wearing a v-neck isn't cutting the mustard for me.

It happens with any e-daddy.

Here's the formula for starting a cult, based on what I've seen in forum threads here:
1. Be aloof. Scarcity increases your worth, and the less you do, the less likely you are to do something stupid.
2. Be funny. People forgive funny people way more than unfunny people.
3. Appeal to people with weak father figures. There's many niches for this, find your own with few competing e-daddies.

Watch as your reputation becomes unimpeachable and people will tirelessly defend you online without compensation for years.
Um. As a credible aficionado of daddies I'm revoking your father-figure card jokes on you......

This is exactly the type of hyde dicksucking that gets me neg-rated into oblivion for calling out. It's really not that deep.
it's not that he's an edgelord, or a provacateur,
No, that's exactly all he is, has ever been, and will be. This is also fine, as evidence from this thread, people love and enjoy degenerate content created by their e-daddy - my opinions on him shouldn't lessen your enjoyment. But trying to make Sam out to be some mythical artist who exists outside of the realm of conceivable comedic space... wow. I dislike Hyde for his degenerate behavior and I don't find most of his content amusing (even though, I will admit his Ted talk is brilliant, I'm not some Hyde A-logger). What I find crazy and keeps me posting is how many people make comments like yours, putting Hyde on this pedestal of achieving some ineffable comedic property when if you look at him from a distance, he's just a scuffed edgelord provaceteur like so many other cows on the forum. As Null put well, it's mainly because he's funny so many people excuse his behavior, but when you find him unfunny you just see a cow.

I think he is (or was) a lot of fun, but as another poster said it's not that deep. He's a right-wing contrarian and a mild hypocrite. He attended a TRS book burning FFS. There is no nuance here. He is in fact an edgelord.

What part of his online presence makes you view him as a lolcow? I don't hang out on social media really so I am not in the loop on how or if he interacts with fans or detractors. I figured you had to be an accessible and interactive figure to really be a lolcow. Otherwise it's more of a celebrity thing, on a much smaller scale of course but insofar as being a personality who has sordid drama surrounding them but isn't really responding directly to the internet at large. I assumed Ian got a thread as a lolcow because he gets actively triggered and responds to fans/haters criticism directly. I'm less aware of Sam publicly getting into it with fans or detractors. I'm only aware of him getting into it with some specific people.

Also, would like to agree that I think the Ted Talk and content like that is his better content. I don't find the Jackass brand of comedy too amusing in current year. Ian vs. Sam is funny to me for the reasons I already mentioned, because they mirror each other's worst traits and ironically seem to dislike that about the other. Stuff like the Ted Talk reminds me more of the Aqua Teen style of absurd/satirical comedy that seems to largely have gone away lately.

i mean you guys do realize that you are pretty much exactly the people im talking about in that post right? when what he does is within the bounds of something you are comfortable with you think he's cool and good but the second he goes outside of the comfort zone of what you're willing to accept other people doing he's gone too far

do you remember the video where he broke into some abandoned house that was being used to grow weed and chatted up the crackheads squatting in there? no but going to a book burning is too far lmao

I would probably say he isn't a cow in the traditional sense, as people aren't milking content out of him a la Chantel or CWC. But in an age where 'internet famous' trolls and idiots earn their own thread I definitely think Sam is fitting among the cows:
  • Fucks trannys
  • Grifts his devoted fanbase of a monthly fee for subpar content (subjective) and for a game that will never see the light of day
  • Now he's selling NFTs even after talking in depth about NFT artists are dogshit
  • Tarnishes every personal relationship he has
  • He constantly finds the need to get himself noticed again:
    • Feuding with the needle drop? Time to drop a rap callout and get noticed again.
    • Hasan acts like a cow? Time to challenge him to a fight to put myself back in the spotlight while the drama is still hot!
    • iDubbz is coming to punk me? Imma punk HIM instead...oh iDubbz never released the video? I guess I will have to release my own epic style 😎

I'm sure this will incur people telling me "I don't get it" or "it went over your head" but the dude is just a clown, which is probably a better term than cow. The fact that the act/persona and actual self is so blurred isn't a selling point to me, it just lets me see that none of it is really an act. People *far* overestimate how popular of influential he is - I hate Hasan, but not even acknowledging Hyde is the best thing he could do for himself here and Sam, still tweeting at him weeks later for a fight that will never happen, is just a cry for attention imo.

If anyone else was desperately vying for attention by still pushing for an event weeks later that will never happen, because to Hasan, Sam is just an annoying fly on the wall, everyone would call them out for being retarded. But because it's Hyde epic trolling Hasan, people think it's awesome and hilarious. Take away the layer of fandom and I just see a sad dude desperately trying to remain in the mainstream tongue.

I don't even know what you are trying to say here. Isn't that the case for literally everything? Think of something you dislike and imagine I came back with "so because it pushes the boundaries of what you are comfortable with you dislike it" and realize how dumb that sounds. I recognize the dude is an edgelord and provocateur, sometime that can turn into good content, most of the time it's just him being a degenerate.

btw, how can you exist in this sphere of the web and not have heard of hyde?

Did Sam Hyde fuck some barely legal bint years ago? : Probably
Does it make him clowning on iCuckz any less funny? : No

End of the day, his intent with this piece was to make content that made people laugh. If we are eliminating any media from artists who may have liked them just a bit too fresh, that's pretty much all recorded music ever going out the window.
