Any recommendations for decent mods? I use MCCC just for story progression, I don’t want any weirdness just something to make the game more interesting lol.

LittleMsSam has a lot of small and big mods that tweak certain aspects of the gameplay or add others.

Speaking of mods, what are your opinions on modders who use Patreon or paywalls? Personally, I don't mind if they make the mods public after a couple of weeks. I can wait.
But I hate those who never release theirs, or never release the updates or just tell people "Well, I don't know when I'm going to release it" after a month or so. Because then the mods stop being free, and they kinda force you to pay (which is against the EA rules, I think).
Money can encourage modders to make better content and keep it updated, and that's great for the game, but it also turns some of them into greedy jewish cunts, and that ruins the fun of modding.

That’s a peeve of mine as well. I can understand releasing mods early to subscribers (like basementalcc does)but agreed that def they should eventually be free

This sort of attitude of Sims modders makes me MATI because of their entitlement. Lol, there are guys making whole DLC sized mods on Morrowind engine and they don't charge any money. But some thot makes a reskin of a tee or an eyeliner for TS4 and suddenly thinks that she is the hot shit that deserves peoples money. I get that this stuff takes a lot of effort and modders deserve some reward for their hard work, but paid mods is such a bizzare idea for me.

Patreon makes paid mods stronger than ever since the Patreon can choose to keep it paywalled for a long enough period to frustrate you to buy it. Has someone with a ok PC tried to play TS3 recently? I ask this because I used to play it with a potato and my biggest annoyance was the 30 min. loading for any new map. I want to know if newer PCs can take it better.

It runs like butter if you install NRAAS and make sure you do the bullshit to make sure your GPU is recognized since TS3 doesn't actually detect any graphics card that isn't old as dirt. Do those two things and it'll run great. Starting up the game might take 5 or 10 minutes, but once you're in game you're golden. Hey, remember how The Sims 3 was open world because EA sure doesn't.

When one of the most prominent modders of the scene created a site called "All Paysites Must Be Destroyed" and slapped a bunch of mods that others were charging for on there for free, you get the idea that that sort of attitude is more prevalent than you think.

From what I understood, the image says "Happy Lunar New Year" instead of "Happy Chinese New Year" to engulf all the east-asian countries that celebrate the holiday. Which is fair, imo, but it's making all the chinks in the comment section seethe. Especially because the sim couple is dressed in Korean attire, and the chinks get assblasted.

Make sure you install a FPS limiter because TS3 doesn't have one, and that can theoretically run at 1 million FPS, thus burning out your computer prematurely.

I think it supposed to be some sort of color palette associated with Korean culture, although people are interpreting it as the pan flag for some reason.

Following the Lunar New Year post, TS4 is getting review bombed on Steam, again from the Chinese that are angry that other countries are being represented for Lunar New Year.

The Sims Team also posted another picture on Instagram, showing the Chinese New Year content that was added to the game in previous years, but the Chinese community is still mad.
