There has actually been a thread about YouTube commenters before, but it was locked. I guess the guidelines have loosened a bit because community watch is a thing now or dear leader changed his opinion on YouTube commenters.

Ever see a comment as bad is this? I didn't screen cap it, but it exists somewhere in a video about down syndrome people jamming to music, the comment was like this.

I'm afraid the story isn't THAT exciting. But essentially, the friend has a Youtube gaming channel and is a long-time streamer, and he once made the mistake of saying he wasn't a fan of Pewds. And he gave a reasonable answer as to why, didn't really put the guy down, just, his videos just weren't his cup of tea.
That's literally it.
What followed that was this stupid (yet amusing) shitstorm of his Youtube getting constantly spammed by fanboys hurling all sorts of insults at him, downvoting videos, trying to report him for multiple offenses, etc.
Funny enough, though, they never bothered to come into the live streams.
He's mostly left alone now, but back then, the whole thing was mildly entertaining.
