Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

That would seem to be the ultimate balance that has kept the Mexican Standoff that is "our democracy" going. Even with the election fraud stuff, you have to think there's just as much of a chance for it to work against them in the long run.

They seem to be very shortsighted and stupid though.
If Legislators could see past the checks and stocks in front of their faces they might realize they are on the cusp of losing all their power to unelected corporations. I'm oddly reminded of the Mayor of Midgar in the original FF7 being nothing more than a puppet for Shinra...

You mean the fact that the big cleaning lobby is trying to suppress that mixing bleach and ammonia makes a much better cleaning product at a much lower price than any of them sell and if people knew this it would put them out of business?
That's a meme right? doesn't that make poison gas in all honesty?

If Libertarians bother voting for a mainstream party, they vote for whichever one they think will lose so they can say "I told you so."
That's what I did when I voted for Trump in 2016, and it backfired! Well, you can't lose 'em all. But nowadays, "don't blame me, I voted for Trump" works much better than I could have anticipated.

The legislators don't care about being puppets (at some level) if the corporations are cutting them big enough checks.

I've seen multiple libs reflexively dismiss Baris because his poll is banned by FiveThirtyEight and therefore must involve results that are either completely made up or totally off the mark. Meanwhile they continue to shill polls that were *actually* way off the mark in 2016, 2018, and 2020 (not to mention Virginia and NJ in 2021).
Baris was dead right about how Youngkin would win by two points in Virginia. I say he's pretty accurate which I think pisses of liberal pollsters becuase it ruins their imagination of blue Iowa and Mississippi. I still like how a liberal think Biden would win Iowa in 2024 despite Trump winning that state easily.
He's referring to Let's Talk Elections. Maryland teenager who had his first sem at Harvard, calls himself a "Larry Hogan Republican," who is one of the 'biggest' election analyst YouTubers who mainly got there through being one of the first to mass produce content for that niche, albeit low quality content where he did things like claim in 2018 that Jeff Flake running as a Dem would beat Trump. He's just a run of the mill neoliberal who believes that election polling is accurate and regurgitates Nate Silver's takes, despite being way off the mark in 2016, 2018, and then in 2020.

It's possible he's also referring to other election analyst youtubers who aren't as big.
Nate Silver is the retard who had blue Mississippi for 2020. Why people take him serious is beyond me

My expectation is that the supreme court will pull an Obamacare tier "well ackshully it's not a mandate it's an limited authority administrative action policy therfore it's legal" kind of nonsense.
If it's limited authority, then OSHA should be tasked with outlining a date/timeframe in which they can relax/plan to end their emergency measures, otherwise this is just more bullshit backdoor legislation that should be brought to court again under a different argument. It's been said before my men far better informed than me, but you CANNOT keep a state of emergency running indefinitely.

For once, I'm glad we don't have rainbows in this megathread.

Someone must be buying into the bullshit as primaries aren't until June and i already saw a few "republicans are evil and are bad for Iowa" ads. There is a right to bare arms amendment on the ballot this year and that should be hella easy for republicans to capitalize on considering every dem opposed it. Seems unlikely with how Biden is doing 2024 looks any better.
