Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

C'mon Jen is just an ugly redhead middle-aged woman. Her mannerisms are clearly of a clueless, undereducated, self-important cunt. Even with years of training no tranny can replicate it. Take a look at Brianna Wu, after many years of trying to become a female, he still acts like a male buffoon. It's quite different for a woman, because there is less self-assuredness, even with her smug demeanor. You just know that 90% of the time she is in over her head.

So going back to Fauci's comments that "Just about everybody" is going to contract the Omicron variant of COVID.

Now, lets put Vaccines on the shelf for now, because that can be its own separate discussion.

BUT, if we are all going to get it, as Fauci said, then why wear masks? Why socially distance? Why shutdown? Why do anything?!?! These measures, by Fauci's own logic, are only prolonging the inevitable and dragging this out.

If we're all going to get COVID anyway, then there is absolutely no reason to do any of those preventative measures.

I’d have hatesex with her.

So even with this what is the status of the Federal Contractor mandate? Is that rolled into the OSHA one?

Unfortunately, it's separate, and technically still alive. But it's on hold due to its own injunctions, and the OMB seems to show little interest in fighting for it -- I haven't checked since New Year's so could be wrong, but I don't think they've even filed an appeal yet. I suspect they were waiting to see how OSHA ETS turned out before taking further action, because the main distinction between the two mandates is whether the feds are a customer, essentially, and that's not terribly relevant to the whole health and safety goal. If they don't quietly abandon the contractor mandate in the background, I doubt it will survive USSC review.

Anticipating @SCSI opinion on the cases.

If the healthcare one sticks, or doesn't allow ample room for religious exemptions this will be an absolute shit show. I know for a fact there were a large number of facilities waiting on this ruling to determine their vaccine policy, and with the osha ruling theres literally no reason for anyone who doesn't want it to stay.

:heart-full: Will do. Am digging into the opinions and will be back later tonight or tomorrow evening with CMS. Going to start with that one since we may not have seen the last of it, while it sounds like OSHA ETS is pretty well toast. As a preliminary note, I'm pleased OSHA was 6-3. Kagan, Breyer, and Soto were lost causes, but was nice to see all of the remaining 6 stick to the historical line of being firm against admin overreach like this, even under the tremendous amount of political pressure involved. After reading oral args for CMS I was kinda expecting that one to get upheld 5-4. Not happy about it, but not shocked. I was slightly surprised to see it was Kavanaugh instead of Barrett who flipped though. I'd thought she seemed a hair more likely to switch since her concerns were so strongly focused on the breadth of who was affected, rather than the core question of can the feds mandate a medication as a requirement of the job at all.

Remember the MA covid stats I shared a while back? A friend kicked this Tweet my way that has an interesting update on that. The sources of her data are the official MA govt stats from HERE and HERE (XLS).

Sotomayor seems like possibly the dumbest person to have ever sat on the bench.
When she was nominated it was made very clear that she had no idea what she was doing. She was always incompetent for the job but was picked because she's "diverse" and emotional enough to listen to any narrative that needs to be pushed.

Hola Kiwis, mind if I share more insanity from my library position with you all?…

Currently, I work as a desk clerk in a fairly liberal library when a regular patron came in. I am pretty convinced this dude is homeless as he dresses very much like a bum. He also has a very hobo beard that is strangely purple at the bottom, which never ceases to grab my attention since I have seen it under his mask.
So anyway…
The dude came in today ranting hardcore, talking about how soon the Republicans will force everyone to have a gun, not joking by the way… He then went off about the anti-vax because I guess the Supreme Court voted in favor of them today, please explain if any of you know as I am out of the loop. Things then got really confusing. When he came back more calmed down around closing he spoke about how he would never own a gun, and something about how he would rather die at the hand of a gun then Rona. This part confused me as I believe I heard him talk about how he wanted to shoot some anti-vax early on. By the end of the night, he explained to us that he had amnesia or something so he does not want rona as he knows what being sick feels like. He then made sly comments about how those dirty antis say that the vax is poison, yet he is still walking, before leaving.

As someone who has gotten both original doses, it is shit like this that compels me to anti vax. I just do not understand how the pros can think they are the sane ones while advocating for forced injections, stripping of rights, and sometimes murder. I just sit there in a state of “what the fuck” listening to these individuals, and thankfully today it seemed like I was not alone.

What is up with Ken Jeong? I remember my dad talking about him on Kimmel, I believe. I guess he is a doctor and explained the virus.

I remember thinking, they are now getting medical advice from a Hangover actor, really?
I believe he's no longer practicing since he took up acting. For all I care, he's just another celeb whose opinions you can safely discard.

Australia, Canada and the Europe meanwhile terrify me. America has a sizably large population of people who are anti-mandate, presently enough to carry an election against the current administration in 2024. I don't think you can say the same for the rest of the West and their "defensive democracies".
Not sure if you've heard of a place called Alberta.

Our urbanites are retards, but the rural folk joke that if anything jumps off, this becomes "Vietnam II" thanks to the amount of forestation and mountains present here.

Probably just a Bill Nye situation. Nye was a scientist, but left it all to become an actor and since has made ‘questionable’ decisions, to put it lightly.
"was a scientist"

He graduated with a BS in mechanical engineering in 1977.

After graduating from Cornell, Nye worked as an engineer for the Boeing Corporation and Sundstrand Data Control near Seattle.
