That's pretty much how this all started, some fuck in backwater Serbia shot and killed some fuck from Austria and the resulting war gave rise to Wilsonian diplomacy which strongly pushed us toward the idea of interventionism across the planet, including defending backwater shitholes like Ukraine. It didn't truly reach it's zenith until after WW2 when we secured our spot as the top military power in the world.
I don't think World War III will actually arise though, the creation of nuclear weapons have more or less made this impossible, that's why the USSR and US mostly conducted proxy wars throughout the Cold War. Putin doesn't want to die in nuclear hellfire and Biden's handlers don't want that either. Even with crazy nations like North Korea they know better than to actually use their nukes.

Debates have been pointless ever since the internet took over our lives. Pre-internet these debates allowed people a glimpse at their candidates and their demeanor live, beyond what the newspapers and TV news put out, but these days there's so much information going around and so much polarization that anyone who wants to know about a candidate doesn't need to spend an hour watching a dog and pony show on TV anymore. They can just type the candidate's name on their search engine of choice and read for five minutes. Or check social media for five minutes. Or watch a five minute video with pretty colors if their attention span is that short.
Debates are just a political circus at this point. It's always been like that, but it's a lot more obvious now.

I have this theory eventually either Russia or China or both will pull something like Taiwan because they are arrogant enough to think "they'll never actually do it" and call our bluff. l’ll agree with half of that. It’s only a matter of time before Putin or Xi make a grab for something just due to the fact that the US is as weak as it is right now. On the other hand, I can’t imagine Biden’s handlers ever sending troops into Russia. The US hasn’t directly fought a major power since the Chinese crossed their border and entered the Korean War, that ended in stalemate, and it was 70 years ago.

I'm not sure if it was brought up in this thread, but the best defender on the best soccer in the German league is also now out with "mild" myocarditis. It's perfectly normal for 21 year old healthy athletes to have sudden heart problems. Even the article is trying to frame it as the COVID itself causing the heart problems.
But it's a conspiracy theory and "not that common" and you are a terrible person for turning down the jab because of myocarditis concerns.
