I see last night as putting a damper on the 'Kat is gone' theory. Phil lies, but the idea that Kat hates her retail jobs, is apparently miserable, and is demoralized after losing out on opportunities to pivot to clerical work - that's all beyond his scope. He's become so removed from other people and the concept of empathy that I really don't think he could concoct that story unless he had witnessed it firsthand from Kat.

Now where this does highlight the lie is his constant claims that they're happy and content with their lives. Kat is clearly not and is open about that. Regardless of their personal state, she loathes the soul crushing retail work and is apparently urgently seeking a way out. So the problem with Phil's lies about their happiness is that he's, at best, speaking for himself alone, and likely also trying to convince Kat as well so that things can stay familiar and comfortable.

The stream last night seems to support the speculation that the likely issue is that Phil simply does not want the status quo to change. He probably controls the 'house' finances and Kat gets to spend her own money. He doesn't particularly care how she comes by that money as long as he has her as a trophy and a crutch for mom duties, and as long as he can burn a fortune on his various vices without her asking questions, he's perfectly happy to maintain a holding pattern. Kat is not, so while he listens to her frustrations, he doesn't want anything to happen outside of Kat basically moving to the same kind of job.

The path forward is that he would curb his spending in order to help her, and she would go into some kind of training so that she could get a better job and be content. This doesn't benefit Phil because he would have to give up comforts, and with their current arrangement, Kat getting more money doesn't do anything for him. Phil probably figured he has already 'nipped this in the butt', having learned from Leanna. Leanna started working and then wanted more and then left him because he refused to do anything for her. This time, he married Kat quickly, before she got restless, and now she can't leave him, so he doesn't really care if she has to keep working at Kroger.

And if this is all true I, for one, look forward to the day Kat leaves him because of his abusive control over her and the complete meltdown he has. I don't think Philbert would be able to recover from another woman leaving him because of him.

Once she crosses the alimony threshold I hope she barges into his "podcast" and let's him know that change is coming.

There isn't really an alimony threshold, especially since it's easily proven that Katherine relied on Phil for financial support, but the general rule in most states is 3 years of marriage gets the woman at least 1 year of alimony.

That's coming up in April.

But, alimony may be unnecessary. I'd bet that Phil paid Leanna off handsomely to break up amicably and to not go public with anything about him.

See, I bet that he would respond to this the same way he does in justifying eating out on his days off when he cries poor instead of scrimping what money he has: 'Yeah, I go out and spend money to eat on ONE meal a week with my wife (we now know this is multiple meals on multiple days). Ok, so what? That's normal, that's called LIFE'. He'd say something to that effect about 'don't be ridiculous everybody has SOME time that's totally free that they can waste doing something mindless'. I'd agree with him too, except for the way he responds when you ask him if he does literally ANYTHING like has he read anything recently, seen any good shows, etc. He goes so over the top with trying to portray himself as some tireless workhorse with unending responsibilities and stress that nobody else could possibly ever relate to with his, 'Look, I have NO free time, I'm working here 6 days a week, blah blah blah, and any free time I have I want to spend with my FAMILY. So, NO, I have not done / cannot do ___'

He makes more problems for himself than any trolls really ever could. When people, who for some inexplicable reason actually like him, literally pay him just to try and make conversation and ask him if he's into some particular hobby or to suggest something that they think he might like or just to ask his opinion on something, and he immediately shuts them down with his, 'I HAVE NO TIME I BARELY HAVE TIME TO SEE MY FAMILY DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT', of course people are going to pick at shit like you saying you waste time playing fucking mobile games. If he wasn't such an inept, absolutist, black and white prick about everything, people then wouldn't bust his balls over everything.

I noticed this with Styxx. He has been fairly affective merging his audience over to another website because he offers SOME kind of incentive. What would Phil offer?

How awesome would this be? What if Phil's true purpose in this life is simply to serve as a way station for troubled and / or directionless young women who, after enough exposure to the pure, sloven, Groundhog Day rut and apathy that is Phil's life, attain the motivation and skills to strike out on their own in pursuit of a more fulfilling life?

As a bonus, they get to figure their shit out while likely only having to be underneath him a token time or two, so their self-esteem wouldn't suffer nearly as much as if they had to do it on a regular basis to buy time until they were ready to peace out. At least on that kind of scenario he'd be good for one thing, as opposed to the current zero.
