Or would it be better to have another site where it's already posted, and you just link it in your post so technically "you" didn't do it? Just wondering how cautious one should hypothetically be.

I'd be more tolerant of random bullshit and constant derails if anything good was actually discussed. I've seen discussion that goes on over all the years, these days its just filled to the brim with weirdasses trying to immediately derail with political or culture bullshit no matter where.

Every once in a while you can get a few good threads in less active boards but a lot of it boils down to the same thing. I'll admit you can say the same about here too but at least someone who dedicates their time to shitting up a thread will eventually get threadbanned or outright full banned.
