This is the real test. The officials doing this are essentially telling the governor's office that it has no power over them and they aren't accountable to the voters of the state. The same shit happened in Texas recently: a bunch of school districts basically told Greg Abbott to fuck off and openly defied his order. His government's response was to litigate against a couple of the districts themselves, but that's pretty weak and takes way too much time to produce results. The shot callers in these school districts need to be put in handcuffs and prosecuted if there is to be any meaningful change. Immediate consequences are the only thing that people like this understand.

His order apparently gives them a week to comply, so all this seems like it would accomplish is pissing off everyone for a few days before they're free to not wear masks. Seems pointless, bitter, spiteful, and ultimately self destructive. I'm guessing a Democrat thought this up?

Update on Florida redistricting:
Florida Republicans were about to pass Congressional Districts that were going to give Democrats an advantage at worst or change nothing at best. They were at 16 solid R districts and 11 solid D districts with the rest being swing counties. Florida Rep Anthony Sabanti said it was because the Talahassee Republicans "didn't care about winning, they just want to lose as slowly as possible." The state legislative maps were so bad even Democrats were cheering them on, probably drooling at the chance to have another free crack at Florida after falling off, and definitely for keeping the House competitive for 2022 and 2024.
DeSantis, not being a gigantic retard, saw both of these maps, threw them in the trash, and submitted his own congressional map breakdown of 20 R- 8 D which is being called the "most brutal gerrymander yet".
Goddamn I love this governor.

Nah, it gives him time to identify the crazies that will reject it (which it already has) and give his new AG/himself a week to weight the best options to start hurting these people.
After the day one EO's and the moves the new AG is making I'm willing to wait a week to see what Youngkin and Miyares cook up.
It makes more sense when you realize that dude wants to become the head of the Department of Education in a Democratic president so anything to show fief to the establishment is on the table. Remember: While Arlington schools were shutdown he had his own kids in private school.
