What If Chris was given the life Cole had and Cole had been coddled in the way Chris had? Like reversed childhood experiences? Minus a few events specific to each, Chris not going to college because his parents refused to help him being shitty to him the same way they were to Cole, and Cole not needing to get any special Ed help or being given video games and Lego’s and kiddie toys and instead probably rare VHS’s of obscure pretentious russsian films or something. But still being coddled and loved the way Chris was.
What would the two have turned out to be like had they had there upbringings reversed? Cole gets coddled and treated well, whilst Chris is neglected and been the one to get abused and ‘shot’ at? What would they have turned out to be?
Chris:
- Would become more dependent on his mother after the gun incident
- Would have been more of a social outcast in his high school days
- Would be a classic gamer sperg
- Would eventually get into the internet but have trouble understanding it
- Would have kissed Bob's ass when Bob wanted nothing to do with him
- Would have gotten kicked out of 14BC and probably worked some shit-tier night shift job or be homeless.
- In the likely event he stays at 14BC because Barb threatens Bob, he still doesn't get welfare and is a burden on the family.
- Never becomes internet famous but creates one of the first Let's Plays showing off his Majora's Mask collection to Nintendo.
Cole
- Becomes a movie fanatic
- Forms a band at Manchester High and makes friends
- Actually gets along with Bob because Bob coddles him.
- Never moves to California, but Charlottesville because he wants to be by his family
- Ends up marrying Sarah Hammer, his childhood friend
- Becomes a famous local movie critic and runs a movie and music store in Charlottesville.
- After dropping off his retard brother at The Game Place, he befriends and later hires Megan Schroeder to work at his store.
- Years later, is able to score an autograph signing for the new High School Music movie from Vanessa Hudgeons on the advice of his newest employee Joshua Martinez.
- The people known as Emily and The Man In The Picklesuit in our timeline periodically visit Cole's store
- The figure known as Kacey reads some of Cole's movie reviews to her boyfriend Chris.
- Years of proper treatment had blown Cole's ego up beyond what it had in our timeline but also removed the bitterness, he gives Toy Story 3 a perfect rating as both himself and Sarah Hammer enjoyed it. He believes he's so good he posts one of the first Youtube video reviews on it, garnering a modest but dedicated internet following.
- He brings the Chandler family together, and even Carol shows up to Bob's heartbreaking funeral, who remembered as a harsh but dedicated family man who helped give his children the skills they needed to be successful.
- He advises Barb not to spend Bob's inheritance on Rob Bell, ensuring that the Chandler's debt is somewhat manageable.
- He helps Barb and Chris financially when the house burns down.
- Eventually he invites Barb to come live with him, Sarah and their two children: Corey and Nicole.
- Chris Smithey dies of Diabeetus in the Year 2021 and is remembered as a useless, manchild with a temper, who may have become something if he had the same father as Cole did in a world with a better understanding of autism. "If only our birth dates had been switched" Cole Chandler thinks to himself "he could have become famous"
