Yep, this. I hate Peetz probably slightly more than the next kiwi, but anxiety disorders are legit. You know when rabbits and deer get squashed in the road because they go halfway, change their minds, go back, hesitate, then, bam? Anxiety disorders are a bit like that. In order to drive you need to, for example, commit to decisions like turning left, changing lanes, and picking a spot to merge into a busy lane at 65mph. Panicking during any of these things because of indecision or self-doubt could be pretty bad. I don't recall Ottawa being full of insane kamikaze fucks like Boston or for some unholy reason ALL OF OHIO but disorders are called disorders for a reason, they don't always have a basis in fact or reality.
As always, it's not the thing that is the moral failing, it's the reaction to the thing. Peetz could work around it, or work to fix it. He could uber, he could walk, he could take the bus. He could combine these things. I know loads of clinically depressed people, they TRY to improve their situation if they can. They claw, they crawl, they flail, they WANT to not be depressed if they can possibly fight it back. Peetz and his fuck-you-it-just-sucks-okay? pisses me off. It's okay to not be okay, but if you have enough energy and self-esteem to put yourself on camera, you can get around your issues until you can gather the strength to solve them.
