The suggestion that Jazz might be on the autism spectrum has been discussed in this thread on a previous occasion, and people pretty much agreed then that he showed no signs of ASD as a little kid: he was outgoing, friendly, highly verbal and not at all awkward in his mannerisms. You could perhaps argue that his obsession with girly stuff in general and mermaids in particular could be autistic, but even so... that's a stretch. All his observable mental health problems began after he had that puberty blocker put in his arm at age 11. Before that he was on par with his age peers in cognitive and social development.

Sander is both a lolcow and pitiable in this ep. Mostly because his behavior indicates a very needy, damaged little boy that craves attention from years of emotional neglect. All while repeating his mother's history of insecurity and narcissism.

Part of me feels for the Sander that was. The small boy with an absent father, sneering mother, and a sibling whose presence pretty much discouraged any positive form of masculinity or boundaries in the household.

But Sander's an adult now. And he's easily succumbing to the overt shallowness and self-obsession that festers within the family line.

Yeah, Griffen is definitely fugly. Maybe I just don't remember the older seasons but in my mind him and Sander always looked pretty similar. Then all of the sudden he's fat with a wonky eye and bad combover. Like I don't remember him being the beady eyed one when they were younger. But funny enough it's him who has the GF and Sander who repels all living things so you wouldn't think that'd be a point of contension, but there's definitely something causing tension between them.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm not one of her stans. This was said in jest. I find her need to try to label everything incredibly taxing. Same with her fans who think she think she deserves the nobel prize in medicine for understanding that blocking a kid's puberty probably isn't a great idea and that hormones regulate things.

And honestly, Jazz' situation isn't really that complicated. It seems like he was completely coddled growing up -- no cooking, no chores, no laundry, etc. And I don't think this is any kind of chicken/egg thing with the pubety blockers, I think his parents have always seen him as fragile and special. That kind of upbringing is going to create a dependent, emotionally immature adult. There are a lot of kids just like this from Gen Z who had a normal puberty. Jazz might stick out in a group of hyper competitive Harvard students, but put him in a circle with similarly sheltered kids and he's not going to come across as noticeably dumber or different than them. At least on the surface. The bodily horrors are another story.

Same with his weight. He was a normal, slender kid who gained some weight towards the end of high school and then exploded after being rendered immobile and even more depressed after a life-ruining surgery. Depressed, self-loathing, binge eaters who live completely sedentary lives and have no real support system (no job, no school, no friends, anything) are going to gain weight like crazy.

I'm not trying to blame Jazz for any of this, I just don't see the mystery or why any of it requires a special diagnosis.

Truth be told, they're reported to have had twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome. The shared placenta causes one twin to give too much blood to the other, causing different problems for each. I don’t think it’s ever been said who was the “donor twin” and who was the “recipient twin.” Anyone know if one with this condition before birth is susceptible to shorter stature or other physical affects into adulthood compared to the other twin? It’s interesting that as identical twins, Griffen looks noticeably different. He’s the more exceptional looking one but is actually the law student while the slightly less offensive looking one has nothing going on accept shirtless tard tik toks.

But as the decades went by, things settled down.
