i'm shocked the narrative is letting the news that the fourth shot isn't "good enough" for omicron through. have absolutely no idea how things are gonna play out but i'm still planning on moving to arizona unless they impose restrictions over it (in which case i'm moving to florida instead)
They're setting up for the variant specific vaccinations, this is seeding the ground for the announcement. Of course the 4th dose doesn't work but neither does the 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Anyway this will mean another 3 injection course.. This was always the plan however the unbelievably low virulence of Omicron and it's insanely high transmission rate has complicated matters. You would have to be some special kind of r.etard to get more jabs after you recovered from Omicron, and almost everyone is going to catch it.

The determination to carry on with the vaccine program is very worrying. There is no justification for it.

Yeah I give that about a week before the working class starts circulating lists of Carhartt's competitors who don't have a mandate now that the government pulled out.
Their new stuff is a bit shit anyway. Jackets made pre-2010 feel thicker and seem to last longer with stronger stitching. You're better off buying a used one if it's not musty or torn.

Yeah someone at Pfizer must have remembered that they sold 8 vaccinations per citizen to the UK/US/Canada already, and don't need to draw down the stockpile to sell something new.

@JosephStalin im sure this one hits home for you!

So today our hospital system officially went into a code brown. Leave is cancelled for staff, people are being called in on their day off, it's all hands on deck. This is because of the overwhelming number of Covid cases. The missus, who works on a Covid ward, disagrees, she says her unit is half empty and they're talking about closing it next week, but what would she know?

Today on the ABC the acting Victorian health minister (the present outbreak is so serious the real one has taken a holiday) explained that Omicron is 'a bit milder' than Delta with a fatality rate 'slightly under 1%'

Currently we're averaging around 100,000 cases per day. This is from testing which is obviously being restricted by the government, the real number is at least 5 times more than this.

Around 60% of the total population have probably contracted the coof. But let's ignore that and assume that we're picking up ever single case.

We're averaging about 50 deaths a day with Covid. So assuming that every single death with Omicron was caused by Omicron and assuming we're catching every case through testing that gives us a fatality rate of 0.05%, about half what we'd experience in a mild flu season.

The real number? We know that about half of Omicron cases in hospital are incidental so I think it's fairly safe to assume an equivalent with deaths. Multiply the case count by 5 to give us the real number of people catching the coof and we get an infection mortality rate of 0.005%.. This would be a very cautious estimate of how deadly Omicron is, the infection rate may be higher due to how mild the disease is, lots of people may mistake it for hay fever, how quick the symptomatic period is for many people (sometimes less than a day) and the almost total non availability of testing.

So worst case scenario Omicron Covid is 2-20 times less deadly than a mild flu. So for sure 'slightly under 1%".

BTW Delta Covid had a mortality rate between 0.1-0.3% also slightly under 1%.

As a response to this deadly wave of infections many people are refusing to leave their homes and rushing to get boosted with an experimental vaccine that's proven not to work against a disease that probably won't make them sick let alone kill them.
I thought code brown was a joke term for when someone has uncontrolled diarrhea.

I'm moving to Arizona this spring from California. I've been there a few times since the fall and it's pretty open. I've never been asked to wear a muzzle, and you don't see a ton of muzzles out and about unless you're in the more liberal parts of town. Maybe it just looks like paradise since I'm stuck in commiefornia, but I love it there.

one day last fall when i was doordashing in my parents' car i yolo'd it and drove all the way up to manchester nh just to see what it was like. something like 1 in 20 people were wearing masks indoors there, and i made sure to go into actual stores and not just restaurants

Depends on where you go, Tempe, Tucson and Phoenix are nuts about masks and vax, but besides those places no one cares. I moved back to the Midwest and people give even less of a fuck here than Arizona. People are too polite to ask for your papers or to wear a mask outside the most insane leftist enclaves.

It's a shock seeing what other parts of the country are doing with covid, meanwhile, you're stuck living in a covid hellscape. I'm done with this shithole in a couple months!

phoenix is full of maskfags? that's the first time i've heard that. i even remember seeing clips of the baked alaska stream last spring where chaggot talks about fucking a 13 year old in downtown phoenix and noticing the distinct lack of masks

Mexicans don’t do it, but the white people who run the city do. Covid is a giant middle aged white woman (Karen) panic that we’ve been forced to pretend was real for 2 years. If we had real men in this country like when the Hong Kong Flu wiped out hundreds of thousands of people we’d have a vibrant economy and be on our way to fixing this country, but instead we got our current state of affairs.

One of the most confusing bits of MSM misinformation in this entire pandemic is the idea that toddlers/children somehow aren't impacted by everyone outside of their immediate family hiding their faces in masks. Now we've finally got studies coming out that confirm the obvious (i.e. that your child, in their precious formative years, is absolutely fucked up by most of the humans it sees around the place wearing cloth that dampers facial recognition and reading of facial cues). But for most of 2020 and 2021 you had journalists actively fighting against this obvious, obvious fact.
Part of me worries/hopes that a portion of this generation of children will grow up to be psychotic. If these children went insane, figured out the virus was massively overblown resulting in their mental/social retardation, and killed their families, that would be justice. I don't want it to happen, but the parents that force this shit on their children are worse scum than the politicians telling them to do so. The parents have a choice, and they are simply following orders like unthinking drones with no regard for their children.
