Are more people being diagnosed with ASD today than, say, 10 years ago? Most of them are just dumb degenerates spurred on by society to continue being dumb degenerates.

No, I think we are seeing both a rise in diagnosis and an actual increase in autism for as-yet-unknown reasons (my personal theory is that it is epigenetically triggered due to environmental factors in the maternal environment). Unfortunately the idea of environmental causes of autism has been poisoned due to Andrew Wakefield’s fraud, so there isn’t as much interest as there should be. But if you spent a lot of time around kids you’d see that the autistic ones are obviously autistic from a young age; it’s not something that arises in school age. I actually wish you were right because then it would be easier to deal with the problem.
