Trump had some dying bushes replaced and they called him a fascist. It's easy to fall into whataboutism when trying to see something from a right wing perspective, but it doesn't get you anywhere. A lot of republicans could be handcuffed and being led onto the box cars and the only thing they would have to say is, "Can you imagine what libtards would say if Trump did this?" I have a lot of love for the new right wing populist movement, but they need to knock that shit off.

My best guess:

We have detailed, fully-vetted intelligence indicating that a Ukraine invasion will happen in the next week. Biden would need to have press conferences to be seen as a legitimate commander-in-chief during a time of crisis. But if it was the first press conference in literal months when he addressed the Ukraine invasion, he'd be peppered with questions about polls and school closures and covid tests and Yemen or whatever the fuck else.

So he had to have one big blitz of a conference, no matter how shitty it was, because a war's about to claim the 24 hour news cycle and this way he can say "I spent HOURS answering your dumb questions last week, let's confine this one to questions about Russia and Ukraine only, let's focus on what's important here."
