RPGnet Forums

In general the left is almost completely incapable of dealing with certain types of predators within their communities, due to the autism and stupidity of their own ideology. The only ones who are immune are those who reject idpol, who are a small minority.

This can manifest in minor ways, like libprog mods allowing fandom forums to turn into egotistical circle jerks for neurotic trannies and banning anyone who complains, or more serious ways, like protecting and enabling sex pests who hide behind their "oppressed minority" status while grooming and sexting minors.
I think it stems from the general belief that there are no bad people, just bad systems. I can recall 2 incidents from the ancient days when you could debate with them.

When the trans trend was beginning, I asked one supporter what would be the system or check to prevent perverts from pretending to be trans to sneak into female bathrooms. Likewise in a debate on rape stats I asked what would be the system or check to prevent false rape accusations.

The answer to both challenges was usually the same: well there is such a high societal cost to doing "that" (pretending to be trans/filing rape charges) that there was no incentive or reason that anybody would ever do those things.

. . .Even though one of the main efforts of the activists is dismantling the societal structures that made such activities costly. Their brains would literally never connect the idea that they were making a system ripe for abuse at the same time they removed any possible checks on that abuse.

And you could never EVER walk them through the logic. And here we are, a decade or two later, and all is proceeding as anybody with common sense predicted. And they STILL won't work out any possible system for dealing with abusers.

Well, here's an week ban for giving an anti-vaxxer an platform, although the original intent was to roast him SJW-style.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. That user has been registered since March and regularly posting on Tangency since May, he should have soon enough caught on what a cangaroo court the forums moderation there is.

Imagine being an even remotely normal human and trying to join a forum for something you're interested in, and that absolutely baffling lunatic psycho crap is what you get in response?
Well, you know what they say about first impressions...Hopefully, he gets the hint, but you'll never know with this forum.

Simp enters the no-no word lexicon.

Also, we missed the big furry circlejerk thread.
You'll be surprised to learn that rpg.net is committed to continue embracing that particular boat anchor of a community. And then the thread got closed because it was generating too many reports. Because rpg.net.

What's funny is that the old take used to be that they were the Germans in WWI. This was also a bad take but it dominated Tolkien pseudohistory discourse up until the 2010s.
I think there’s a kernel of truth to that. I’ve always thought that the books were an attempt to make sense of the shit that happened to him on the Somme but that bit about the orcs themselves being Germans? Tolkien hated offensive depictions of ANYONE, including those who had been his mortal fucking enemies in WWI.

The "no bad people, just bad systems" argument has become completely retarded because they clearly believe "Nazis" and "bigots" (ie-anyone remotely right of center) are evil. Yet they STILL cling to it for everything else. This is how we got the insanity of them hating Rittenhouse while white knighting for Rosenbaum ("Sure he raped 5 kids, but he's a HUMAN BEAN!"). It really is just about the worst moral system you could devise without just straight up inverting the definitions of good and bad.

And yeah, the whole, "Nobody would do that" argument shows how sheltered and clueless about humanity they are. You can find all sorts of examples of people doing awful and crazy things for little to no comprehendible reason.

This basic inability to understand humanity outside of themselves is big part of why so many of them are shitty writers, come to think of it.

Tolkien himself asserted that "We were all Orcs in the Great War." I think it's pretty easy to connect the dots to see that Orcs don't represent any group in particular other than how war turns men into monsters.
And how often the bigger monsters are those those that warp those men in the first place before sending them out to die and kill.
But that's complicated thing for RPG.net who prefer the simple "orcs are black people because they're dumb and violent. What do you mean I'm racist?"

Exactly.

Best I can figure to their logic in your example is that Rosenbaum being a felon is a victim of the system and was at least rioting to bring about revolution to change said system. Rittenhouse however acted as a perpetrator of this horrible system victimizing and making people criminals. That's why he deserves the worst fate.

It's actually more understandable in the context of RPG.net. Everyone who is not them or their chosen associates is an NPC. And therefore they only serve a purpose as it relates to them and their associates.

Kyle killed BLM protestors. We support BLM! Kyle bad!!
Jojo raped children and was shot by Kyle. We don't care about children. Jojo at BLM protest! Kyle bad!! Jojo good!!!

This is an oversimplification but not a lot.

He certainly doesn't understand what irony is.
Don't you know? All threads belong to the mods, and proles are only allowed to post in them by their good graces.

But yeah, that infraction looked an awful lot like 'I don't like your take on this, serf, so I'm kicking you out of the thread'.
