Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Yeah I was discussing line of succession and how Nancy isn't _that_ far from the top and similarly brought up the idea that "yes, I disagree heavily with her politics and she's probably basically evil, but at least some times she has a clear goal and some record of making it happen"

Hillary Clinton may be the most historically unpopular politician in modern American history. Every time she comes up for air, she is unceremoniously swatted aside if the plebeians are allowed a say in the vote. See: 2008, 2016, every time she showed her face in public as SecState.

Kamala is less popular than that. That's an accomplishment. Probably her only one.

yeah keep in mind that "lol Hillary is a scheming political operative" has been a basic punchline at this point for well beyond a quarter century
the only people who remember a time when "lol Hillary is a scheming political operative" wasn't a fundamental concept of life are at this point at least approaching forty if not well beyond it

Ironically, he actually doesn't sound too different from people in conservative circles that raged against the fecklessness of GOP congressional leaders during the Obama years.

I guess if you're a political sperg, seeing your party of choice let you down is just something that comes with the territory.
