I'm in the camp that, beyond them not like someone outside of their control running things(even hamstrung), they had a plan to usher in their 1000 year Reich and needed to keep the white house after Obama. it was obvious that Hillary was meant to be the transition into single party rule. Riding on the wave of defeating the arch republican they made in trump and the still popular obama she was to have carte blanche to pass whatever they wanted over her 8 years. By this time they expected to already have 4 years of Hillary and solid DNC control at the federal level.

Now, I admit that as a non-American, I wouldn't have the same level of knowledge on the intricacies of American politics as those who live and breathe the DC swamps. The problem with that idea is that we have three years left, and the UK just declared "fuck COVID, we're done."

LITERALLY the only thing keeping this pandemic going are the mandates right now. If Trump was President, the "pandemic" would probably be over and he would be pushing the message of "I think shots are great, I'm the best for making Operation Warp Speed happen, everyone should get the shot, but no mandates." COVID would still be a thing, especially in blue states, but as a nation we'd probably move on except for CNN/MSNBC telling us how many people Trump is personally killing.

Well... Did they steal the election in spite of the problems that were about to happen, or did they cause those problems to help steal the election?

The crashing of the US economy I believe in part, maybe a very large part, was to intentionally harm Trump's administration and pull him down enough to let Biden win. They just didn't think 6 months ahead in that the economy was still going to be destroyed.
