Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

But sitting there, taking yet another L and them blaming for republican obstruction... I mean, the democrats spend the last 4 years calling every republican facists, why would they expect them to get along now?

This whole thing feels odd. I don't really like to say "you shoudl do this or that", because I know fuck all about politics and how these institutions work, it's just, everything feels odd with the american gov since Biden took over. I suspect the Democrats' strategy, now that they know they can't pass their agenda in Congress and pay their creditors, is to make the country ungovernable. The things they're saying are intended to set the stage for massive civil unrest after they lose power. Biden is saying that if they don't get their "voting rights" bill passed, the next election won't be legitimate. He's on stage screaming about George Wallace and Bull Connor. You can see it with the redditors talking about how the US will be a fascist corporate state forever if the Dems get voted out.

If they lose the midterms and especially if Trump takes back the White House in 2024, they may be planning to go scorched earth and direct their golems to burn and destroy as much of the country they can. The goal would be to make the fascist takeover a self-fulfilling prophecy, with the Secret Service left with no choice but to open up with automatic weapons on an armed mob trying to storm the White House. Photos and videos of the event would be plastered across every news channel, possibly intended to pave the way for a coup by the likes of General Milley in order to "restore democracy."

The wording was a bit vague (maybe intentionally?) but I think she was saying she would resign a year after she mentioned her future plans, which was in early May.

Storming the white house or attempting to would be the dumbest move ANTIFA and BLM could possibly do. The Secret Service is the only armed force that has blanket authority to use lethal force without authorization.

Now, I admit that as a non-American, I wouldn't have the same level of knowledge on the intricacies of American politics as those who live and breathe the DC swamps. But am I mistaken in thinking that these people currently derive power and prestige from the current status quo? Going scorched earth means you upend that status quo, possibly derailing the gravy train and ruining everyone's chances at said power.

What possible benefit they can have from doing this?

At what point does pandering to the Covidians start to do more harm than good? There has to be a tipping point where they just say "alright, this is now costing us support, time to switch things up." How close are they to that point?

We passed that threshold about a year and a half ago and there's no sign of a slowdown.
