Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Biden's center-right and has even described himself as a conservative as is all of the democratic leadership, the "managerial class" is the people both parties take donations from, and megacorporations are in favor of massive deregulation, tax cuts, privatization of state assets, and ending environmental protections. You know, all the things republicans love. But you think none of this is significant because netflix pretends to care about human rights? Do yourself a favor and pay no attention to the pathetic culture war crap. In terms of things that actually matter the entire western world jumped massively right in the 1980's and it keeps going further down that route. Republicans in the 60's were more like where democrats are today. The republican party controls most governorships, controls the supreme court and far, far, more lower ones, and in congress it has the ability to stop any legislation it doesn't approve of, never mind pass the legislation they do.

How much winning do you need? Be happy. You guys get so distracted by your rage at transgendered cartoon characters that you can't even appreciate how utterly dominant you are. You made America your little bitch. Even the democrats think like you do where it counts. Even the people who hate you agree with you! You even gerrymander yourself unlosable elections. I can't think of a single time in the past like 30 years where republicans didn't always get what they wanted. Even if it takes them forever, they always get it. Even Obamacare, something they all say they hate, was written up by Mitt Romney.

Like Jesus, when are you guys gonna stop whining and bust out the liquor and boogy?

A few pages back a reporter apparently said in an interview today that Psaki and his handlers were there and around the 45 minute mark tried to get Joe off the stage, and he just... ignored them. At the hour mark he ignored them AGAIN.

He said Jen Psaki and a lot of Biden's press handlers were sitting next to him and behind him, and about 40-50 minutes into the speech, Psaki and the rest stood up like they were trying to tell Biden time was up, but he kept rambling on. He said about 10 or 15 minutes after that, they all started moving to the door to really force him to stop but he still kept rambling on.

Something to keep in mind about Steven Nelson is that he actually got into a catfight with Psaki today. Not that I believe that's grounds to doubt his story, the cameras at Biden's conference were very carefully set up so that they never showed the whole room. Only Biden, or the reporter asking a question and nothing around him.

God, I could tell you so many stories of my time in the Dems back when Clinton was running. It was a fine ol' time and for all her faults (and they were legion even then) she was infinitely better than her contemporaries amongst NY's establishment class. Part of me feels like even she got changed for the worse by the ongoing issues plaguing the Dem estabishment - she's always been a bloodthirsty opportunist and political shyster, but she knew how to manage optics once. I specifically remember back when she was running for Senator, at a time when the DNC was running 300-dollar-a-head fundraising dinners, she was actually campaigning in person and having barbeques at public venues that were both free and open to the public.

That isn't something you'd see her do.... Ever now, and while I mostly think that it's due to the fact she has no need to, part of me can't help but wonder if she wound up trapped by it. I can't any sympathy for her if so, given the shit she's pulled since, but it is something to think about.

I also remember the exact second I swore never to back anything she was involved with ever again - it was 2005, and it involved Jack Thompson.

My leading theory right now is it was Biden, and the drugs.

More specifically, we know he's getting hopped up with some cocktail of sorts to try and keep him semifunctional. And I imagine he's both on it quite a lot for assorted official meetings, and its constantly being tweaked to try and find something that works better. I'm thinking the combination of a particularly good day, good mix of drugs, and luck lead to him being nearly functional, during discussion about his awful approval rating and media perception. And he got it in his head that he had to just actually talk to the media which they never let him do. If he was functional and determined enough, he is the president - they can't really stop him. And evidently he remembered this was his idea, and ignored their efforts to wave him off.

Only explanation that makes sense to me based on what we know so far, even though it makes a lot of assumptions.
