I tried out NijiEN when Lazulight first came out but i never really got into them, i like Selen but her usual Apex autism kinda filters me, the thing which made me never really get into Niji was mainly that they are very casual about their streams, and while i know a lot of people like that it's not really mah thing.

In general i have never really liked regular streamers and the more a Vtuber gets close to just being a regular streamer with an avatar the less i find them entertaining. As for the NijiMEN i am not a fujo and they just come off as fucking annoying to me, while they would make great regular youtubers i don't really care for them as Vtubers.

Apparently IRyS is thinking of rebroadcasting unarchived karaokes and maybe doing a text-only chatting stream, which I think is also a really good approach, as IRyS is hilarious but maybe not as "soundboardable" as Marine.

I don't care if people don't care for them, or if they watch and realise their content isn't for them.

I do tend to take issue with more meta discussions like people who don't watch Niji talking about the company's business practices, calling members failures, having a tertiary understanding of something but rattling off rrats. At that point I have to question people's motives for watching V-Tubers, or at least raise my brow at thinly-veiled tribalfagging.

Not that I disagree with you, by the way, but I am interested in learning what it is you mean by 'casual about their streams'. Or rather, what you like about how Holo conduct themselves that Niji do not. Are there Holos you consider to be 'casual streamers'? Are there criteria that need to be met?

Dunno how i would describe it, just feels like Holos play more into the kayfabe aspect, maybe because they are kept on a tighter leash which im not gonna start debating if it's a good or bad thing. I think in general most people would agree that Holos are more "idoru" than most vtuber productions nowadays, Nijis, specially the JP ones have always had this sense that they were just regular folks, and a lot of them have full time jobs apart from vtubing. Still both companies are more similar to each other than something like Vshojo or indies who basically are vtubers only by the model.

The only live translator at the time didn't translate much. She has new intro BGM - samples of herself.

She also told viewers to watch Rushia's birthday live.

Got a chance to watch this. I would have thought a comeback stream like this would have a translator, but unfortunately not. As you said, only a few things got translated so not entirely sure what was going on, but her spirits seemed up by the end which is good.

Regarding NijiEN, they all seem like talented and entertaining people, but I only have so much time and I'm already hard-wired to the Hololive ecosystem, so I'm satisfied watching the occasional clip of Niji but don't really plan to watch much in the way of streams. I did watch some of Vox's Sekiro reset-on-death stream, and the dude has legitimate skills, a good temperament, and a radio voice.
