I never expected Autumn to take part in eating disorder Twitter (EDtwt), such a plot twist. But really, this is such an attention whore thing to do and it’s honestly sick to put that sort of thing in your bio to guilt trip people. There are a lot of people out there who actually struggle with eating disorders and are dying because of them.

There's no way to get around these types of people without community mods who interact with people and play an active role. Even if there was, becoming powermods or befriending them can turn a nice community into a horrid dirty secret all because the right people are in power.
Twitter is a slow ass dinosaur of moderation. If they could replace ALL mods with bots they'd do it in a heartbeat. The only way to get power is by having a lot of followers or having connections with someone who does, something manipulative people and attention whores can get good at doing. This is where toxic people flourish, in communities where popularity and keeping people appeased matters with lax moderation, and best of all, easy account name changes and easy to resign up if you completely leave for a month or more.
No amount of being a self appointed twitter janny could have prevented this. Instantly dubbing yourself a community callout type mod without a process means anyone could claim instant power and disguise themselves as a friendly just by saying all the right things to throw people off their bastardry.
