What Video caused you to stop watching a Youtuber?

I think stopped Memelogy's videos after the coronavirus crisis started (liked it better when focused on Internet bullshit instead). I use to watch HCBailly's Let's Plays, but after he completely broke a game I realized I didn't care any more and left.
Honestly Memology became complete shit when he decided to just become some conservative grifter channel that became quick news clips for Facebook boomers and /pol/tards.

But what really made me hate him is when he does shit he claims to hate like how he brags about how much money he makes or lies, like all the times he acts like he's a centrist when anyone calls out his political shit despite how obvious where his political leanings lie (at least in terms of who he's trying to pander to)

I think he had some spergouts here on kiwifarms before too, essentially doubling down on it

Wasn't that an attention grab by the claimants without evidence? He's still a weird ass though who did e-sex nonsense through his Tumblr.
He said he made sure to ask his nude cultists if they were of age, which is stupid since they can lie about it and the faggot himself had to realize that a lot of his audience were not of age and would attempt to join his secret club either way without him being in any way able to double check. So he's either retarded or full of shit about minors being involved.
Either way, a whole world of minors saw his dick afterward when everything was made public lol

The Interner-memelord-to-right-wing-shill pipeline is real, and part of it runs through News and Articles, IMHO.

I used to watch Honest Trailers as a guilty pleasure. They weren't amazing or anything, but they were short, and often worth at least a chuckle. Then came the Animated Mulan trailer where they were OBNOXIOUSLY political and ALSO dissed I'll Make A Man Out Of You.
The first segment where it flashes some comments asking for this video gets tiresome. Fast.

Also, Wisecrack, specifically the AoT video. He relates the whole 'followers of Ymir trying to genocide themselves" to how white people should really believe the whole white privilege thing, and that they are right to think they are inherently evil and putting an end to their race would help the world. It kinda flew over his head that this 'white privilege, racial guilt' thing was inspired by the same thing that was promoted in Nazi Germany, and drew inspiration on how Jewish people at that time were seen as a race of innate evil people and how the world treated them based on fake propaganda and rewriting the history. For someone who is supposedly anti racism and nazi, it's pretty stupid to take such a stance.

While I can't really say it was "one video" for me rather then a gradually shift in their content, I haven't watched anything Team Four Star related in a year or two. I used to follow everything they did, from Dragon Ball Z Abridged right down to their gaming channel, but then the 2016 election happened, but they at least had the decency to keep that mostly down to one or two post election spurge outs before moving on. But they got down right nasty and retarded during the 2020 election, even still, I could...over look that, if their content was still good.

And, well, while it wasn't as good as it once was, it was still enjoyable and had some decent jokes every now and again, but good lord did their schedule start to drag. Apparently this was because Kaiser, the guy who edited DBZA, got higher and higher standards when making the episodes the further they went along into the series and, instead of hiring someone to help him, he just insisted on doing it all himself, leading to episodes taking longer and longer (thinking back, this is also probably why the other members of TFS had so much time to play and upload games to their gaming channel between episodes, they were waiting on Kaiser to finish editing one episode so they could move onto the next). This is kinda dumb when you think about it, few people watch any abridge series for a visual spectacle I personally don't care THAT much if the characters mouths don't line up with their words 100% of the time, I just want to hear fun jokes and see a satirical take on a series I love while growing up.

Anyways, if I had to pick out one video, I think it was actually one of their latter episodes of their D&D streams. When it first started out I actually enjoyed it, if felt like a group of friends with chemistry coming together to play Dungeons and Dragons, but towards the end of the series the whole thing got a bit too far up it's own ass and it became obvious that it was scripted. It sort of hit me halfway through their streams that I'd rather be listening to someone else, or even music, rather then them, and I guess that was that...I never did finish watching their D&D series. I stuck around to watch them conclude DBZA and FF7A, but that was it. Kind of a shame too, some of those guys were amongest the first content creators I followed back when I stumbled upon Youtube back in 2007/2008, sad that my experience ended the way it did, but sometimes that's just the way it goes.

I thought Preston Jacobs had interesting ideas and theories about ASOIAF, although he seemed to get far more up his own ass as time went on.

When his videos started to seem to be a majority of clips from whatever shitty podcast he co hosts, I started to tune out since his goofy liberal views would seep through often and it was generally just boring. I'd still watch his theory stuff though.

Recently he started doing solo podcasts from Taiwan, since I think he works at the US Embassy there. Someone told me he actually talks about ASOIAF stuff on there, so I gave one a listen. He spends the first 10 minutes talking about football (zzzz) and then someone asks about trans women in sports, and he has the most boneheaded opinion that "No onecares about womens sports, no one ever cared about womens sports, so why all of the sudden womens sports being used as an excuse to bash trans people?" and goes on and on about how nobody cares about womens sports, it's a fake issue and anyone that claims it isn't is a bigot.

When someone points out to him that women competitors care about women sports, he doubles down by saying, and I quote, "Sure, the women who compete care, but you have to weigh what is more important. Like entertainment for....for...people who care about womens sports? The women who are competing? Or, you know, like people who want to live their life? And...you know...are very persecuted....and....you know...are stuck in this situation where they believe they are...you know...a different gender or sex inside from what they show on the outside."

He looks super uncomfortable during this point, and is repeatedly rubbing his head and looking distressed. He ends it with "So I mean, which people do I think have the bigger...if I'm sitting here in a utilitarian sense who am I making happier? And who am I improving the life of the most? I'd say....you know...probably the trans people. I...I think they win over women in sports."

Just completely killed whatever intelligence I thought the man might have had and made it clear he's just an NPC autist.

I wonder if people realize when they say this that they're directly saying the mental health and physical well-being of men is more important than that of women? You can say a vapid line like 'trans women are women' but that's not factually true. It's not memeing, but hard, biological fact that a trans woman begins as someone who is in every physical way a man, that then develops a mental issue either via psychology or actual brain deformity and becomes convinced they're a woman. Society has determined the best way to treat this is to tell the man that they are a in fact a woman and do everything they can to cater to this delusion so that they can live comfortably despite it, but you are actually catering to the mental health of a man over that of the women he's competing with. In theory it's important that he views himself as a woman, but that's no excuse for you to think that.

I can't think of any videos in particular that have made me unsubscribe or stop watching youtubers. Usually it's something stupid they do that's not in their video, like butt into a tweet war or political slapfight somewhere with a bad take. I dropped a lot of Youtubers because they saw the Vic controversy that involved them not at all and decided to include themselves and attack him for woke points. It costs nothing at all to look at a hot button topic full of landmines and go "I don't want to involve myself in that."

I'm just about done with Markiplier, and probably would have unsubscribed last year if he didn't start an oddly satisfying Power Wash sim playthrough. He's just gotten so pretentious over the years that it's hard to enjoy anything he does, because he's too busy trying to elevate THE CRAFT. I also immediately dropped some co-op game he played with Bob and Wade when they decided to drag on some stupid joke about 'covid deniers' in a fire fighter sim game. The last thing I want to see in a kooky goat simulator type gameplay video is current world politics. He used to be a lot better about keeping his opinions to himself and dodging drama, but he's done more and more BLM/Do Better type videos and it's just not worth it for the scraps of good content left. His side channel Unus Annus was just a year of him making really low quality vlog style skits every day and then jacking off on camera about how it was meaningful art that underscored the finite and beautiful nature of life just because he deleted the channel afterward. But not the merch!

I'd rather just watch Jacksepticeye and Pewdiepie play almost all the exact same games he does in almost identical ways. Jack's gone downhill since he's lost some of his high octane energy, but he's still not nearly as pretentious as Mark is.

Actually, now that I think about it, there was one video I did drop a youtuber for. I watched this one guy for a bit a few years ago. He did weird party games and such with his friends, but without quite the sheer level of obnoxious "HEY KIDS!" channels do that with these days. His titles and thumbnails got obnoxiously clickbaity and in one video he defended making a video title implying his wife's water broke (when it was just some computer that broke, I think) with tired old excuses about how youtubers have to clickbait and he doesn't have a choice but to do that - but obviously he had no idea people would think "It broke!" with a picture of his wife's face on the thumbnail could mean her water broke. I unsubbed and left and the only time I looked back at it was when he had a video addressing why he wasn't in the youtube rewind that year. Someone had to timestamp where he actually addressed it, because 90% of the video was random vlog things, and the answer was about thirty seconds long, nine minutes into the video. I imagine it's only gotten worse from then, but I don't know because I've never gone back to look.

There's been a few instances where I never really 'picked up' a youtuber but was still in the early stages of considering it when they did something dumb and lost me. A few gamers blind-playing popular games ruined their playthroughs by either bringing on 'guests' who were not blind to the game, or casually mentioning politics, but I can't remember most of those names. Pretty much all of the anti-Marvel/reactionary reviewers have lost me over the past year or two when they doggedly say every single MCU release is bad and terrible and a flop, no matter their actual quality, purely because someone said something behind the scenes that offended them. When a whole bunch of them made videos sucking the dick of the awful Snyder cut for Justice League simply because 'the right people' were behind that one, I cut them off entirely. I wasn't subbed to any of them, so I just went into my YT history and deleted their videos so I wouldn't get recommended any of their stuff in the future.

There's an investment/housing market/economy tuber called Neil McCoy Ward. General economics doomcasting of the sort we see in The Business. I found his videos interesting enough to watch and get some perspective from until in one about a month ago he suddenly dropped some reference to mystical ages or something of that ilk. I don't recall what it was exactly but instantly dropped his channel and haven't gone back. I don't want my economics forecasters informed by ancient magic or astrology. I mean, unless at the least they're a wizard. And I don't think he's a wizard.

I remembered getting a recommendation for a Karlyn Borsenko video one day. I guess her story was sort of interesting, being cancelled from the "knitting community" for (supposedly) being conservative.

I'd hardly say I sought out her videos but after I clicked the first one I got recommendations in the following days. It was filler while I was painting my 40k army so, whatever. Just boilerplate reporting on cancel culture.

But then hoo boy did she go nuts. She always had the slightly crazy look of a woman who would try to get out of work on disability due to fibromyalgia or ehlers danlos or whatever fake fucking malady afflicts fat, lazy women. But then she started to accuse conference hotels of conspiring against her - hotels that were friendly to the MAGA voters. Started picking fights with former friends on YT, giving them mock nicknames like Trump does. Literally went shaking, crazy eyed insane. And while it was amusing for a while it started to get boring as well.

Apparently she's burned every bridge possible last I heard but seems to have a relatively large audience.

Most recent was a Doom gamer Decino when he admitted to having taken a covid booster shot.
For me it's blind playthroughs. What made me like his channel in the first place was that he would calmly blaze through a map without breaking a sweat and on top of that explain certain map design decisions, what works and what doesn't, how it forces the player do things one way or the other etc. But I guess the majority of his fanbase are parasocial retards who want to see Their Favorite Tuber's Epic Exaggerated First Time Reaction.

Midnight's Edge when they labeled anyone who disliked TLJ as trolls and bigots. Only to flip around and say they never liked TLJ, when the hate train was getting popular. Bunch of snakes. Their Marvel/Disney bias was getting on my nerves but that TLJ stuff was the last straw.
I dropped them when they stopped making the occasional interesting video (interviews or series retrospectives) and started doing low-effort streams. Their content was hit hard when the Chink Flu started ravaging the world, like most movie/entertainment streamers, but that's not my problem. I don't need "guess what Kathleen Kennedy did now, guyz" videos every damn day in my feed. Not to mention how fucking annoying most of the ME crew are...

Yeah. I stopped really watching her videos after the 2020 election, but the Mikey Harlow stuff coming out surprised me and made me realize she didn't even deserve the subscription. Just another culture war grifter weirdo, I guess.

I always knew there was something about her I didn't like... she seems so phony. Like the kind of woman who would, smiling, shut off the camera, and then scream at her husband and kids.

If it makes you feel better even George found him annoying. He spilled his spaghetti at a fan meeting. George would sit at various tables talking with fans, and this guy pestered him with the stupidest questions to the point he just replied with ''I like salad sauce haha''.

Switching between high skill playthroughs and blind playthroughs sounds like a recipe for losing followers. There's an appeal both to the super high skill player who knows every exploit and does every map frame perfect and to the person who knows so little about the game they're playing that they accidentally trigger the genocide route in Undertale because they lost to the first boss and their immediate solution was 'level up as much as possible to win'. My personal appeal for blind playthroughs, rather than exaggerated reactions, is that an unspoiled playthrough can feel more genuine and give that feeling of 'playing that game you love for the first time all over again' that you yourself can't initiate anymore. That one hardcore Myst nerd who played the games while constantly spitting out all of the lore and info no one else short of the writers themselves could ever have bothered to learn is also a fun and unique experience to watch, but I'm probably never going to be in the mood for both at the same time, so a channel trying to do both would get me to unsub pretty quick.

Probably cause the majority of troons are left-wing and they can't take a fucking joke.
Also, just any SJW video from those old channels back when it was golden. I found SJWS irl and that took my attention away from youtube.
