What legal reason would they have this time? YT-DL (youtube download) at least technically competed with Google's shitty subscription service that is the only way to locally download Youtube videos officially. The dislike addon adds a feature back they removed.

The movie bob thread I think is the biggest on the forum. I don't think we can surpass its power and Josh is spending all of his silver coins just to keep that thread afloat.

I'm guessing that "the API for dislike extensions" means YouTube's official API, which is being used by dislike extensions to access / toggle official counts stored on YouTube servers. In theory the endpoints (dislike related requests) should be disabled by now, but I guess some apps can still use that information?

YouTube doesn't need a legal reason to stop supporting parts of their own API or to stop sharing that data.

Now if this was a 3rd party dislike count, yeah I'm not sure what their rationale would be.
