If Jazz attended for a short time in 2019, he would’ve withdrawn not flunked out.

According to the 2019-20 student calendar, a student had until Sept 9th, 2019 to withdraw before being charged tuition. Meanwhile, student check-in as well as the start of classes was Sept 3rd. So if Jaron attended but withdrew he would’ve been enrolled for less than a week.

For academic issues most schools give a few chances (warning, then probation, THEN expulsion) and even then some places will let the expelled student apply for readmission if s/he went somewhere else for a term or two and brought his/her grades up.

Withdrawal for medical issues which is probably what Jaron got is different: the school will act quicker to suspend a student for health problems but it is also very likely to readmit him/her based on a doctor's recommendation because it does not reflect on academic ability.

They could have paid the tuition and lost it, or got it back if Jazz withdrew on medical grounds. This is sounding like the most likely thing to me right now. If he deferred, then I don't see how Harvard could request anything in the way of certification to allow him back. If, on the other hand, he withdrew on mental health/ medical grounds after the semester had started, then it would be pertinent to get proof those issues had been dealt with. If he deferred the place it could be given to another student. If he actually went and then withdrew, the place was simply lost and Harvard could not offer it to someone on their waitlist. You see why they might ask for evidence that it wouldn't happen a second time.

My current favorite theory is that he went for a couple weeks and then had a breakdown.

I would say that assumption is probably correct but I also can’t help but think that maybe this would be a good thing.

I mean, what’s the point of continuing what sounds like a horrifically painful ritual for several times a day when the only use for the amhole is sex and he has no sex drive?
