How will society function without jobs?

Is it one of those towns that depended on a single industry that offshored 20 years ago & has been death spiralling ever since? My hometown is almost that way due to the decline of the steel plant, but it also has a university, tube mill, locks, & community college that keeps it somewhat afloat, and its surrounded by hundreds of miles of wilderness & lakes so hikers and boaters have plenty of reason to stick around. The college & uni's entire business model seems to be getting as many Pajeets as possible to pay international student rates and flood the market of low-tier service jobs , so there's only really a community if you're over 40.

I blame the sudden fall of tumblr as a containment site for the degeneracy spreading in society. It should either have been choked out early on or stayed up until it died a slow and natural death as their users necked themselves. Or 4chan should have been shut down first, though I'm not sure if the world would be better off if 4chan users had been the ones taking over mainstream social media when the rest of society joined.
It was leaking out for awhile before. Ignoring the problem made it worse for both.

Spot on.

I love it. I love reading posts where Reddit, a site that worships moderators as if they're gods, finally see reality for what it is and are now at peak "fuck jannies" and shitting where these people eat.

The powertripping janitors on Reddit should be treated this way more often. Even when I was a kid on forums, the mods were never as insane as Reddit mods.

It's a fucking ouroboros with these people. WorkReform is the best shot this movement has at surviving since it's not getting into the gay partisan progressive stack bullshit that kills causes like these. WorkersStrikeBack will serve as a good replacement for the main r/Antiwork board for KF to laugh at since it's full of the same Doreen-type terminally online lazy trannies who will inevitably self-implode if the board doesn't die out within a few weeks.

To them, if you're to the left of Stalin, you're a right wing Fox News watching Republican. Just look at one of r/WorkersStrikeBack's top posts. They thrive off culture war faggotry since it's the one thing that gives them an identity or sense of purpose in life.
r/WorkersStrikeBack is going to die. The title alone is cringe. WorkReform also seems to have a mod team with heads on their shoulders so it’s more likely they survive beyond the first few months.

The leaking was minimal tbh., they were by nature tyrannical snowflakes that hate places they don't control. You saw it every time they tried to raid 4chan or some of them got lost onto reddit, they immediately ran screeching back to get some validation for their newly acquired PTSD.

And the only alternative when it had festered for so long IMHO would have been to let the site die a slow death. Gradually boil the frogs with degrading service until they necked themselves because of loneliness or their families got them institutionalized.

Re: the mod's alt account. This was his last comment before deleting. A poor attempt at recovery from his blunder

The weird thing is the first post on the account is actually about MBA shit. This LARP is pretty funny but the fact that he continued this larp for a year is sad.

If anyone wants to look through the mod's alt account that he deleted:

Like I said, on paper it's doing "good", but that's until you actually have to live there as somebody below the age of 60 and you realize literally every job available to you involves either giving those people a prostate exam or pouring their coffee. Like most suburbs it barely existed before the 60's. Now it's just a case study in what happens when white flight goes on way too long. If you're not old and established you're young and alienated. No middle ground. There was never any actual industry in the place because it only ever existed to cater to people who commuted to the city. Now it's so expensive that this purpose doesn't make any sense (imagine a place just as, if not more, expensive as NYC but you also have to drive 2 hours to get to work). Last time there was anything resembling an actual economy was when people still thought killing whales was a good way to make candles.

I really can't count the amount of times I've gotten the condescending "brocialist" bullshit for pointing out that most working class people don't give a fuck about pronouns and just want to pay for their kids insulin. I mentioned elsewhere I went to a few DSA meetings. First one I went to they spent half the time arguing over whether putting a quota on trans people in leadership roles was "tokenizing" or not. Guess how many trans people there was in that group? One. Guess who was benefiting from that? Now guess who was really angry about people saying they should scrap this rule.

Funniest and most pathetic shit I ever saw, a room of people politely trying to tell their insane friend to shut the fuck up and let them do actual work. But they can't just say it, they gotta dress it up in gaslighting language about tokenization because otherwise this idiot is just going to scream at them for an hour

In my experience socialists are very nice people. This is a bad thing.

warehouses have a 70% 90 day turnover. you might hit 25 on a high low, The retail one is new to me.
Who makes a career out of a warehouse job? Perhaps that's why there's a high turnover rate?

"How am I supposed to buy a nice house stacking boxes part time?" You aren't supposed to and nobody has ever expected that until about 5 minutes ago.

Those aren't suburbs you're talking about. Those are exurbs. A suburb built during the mid century will have an economy and things to do if you have a car. What you're dealing with sounds like those creepy McMansion forests that pop up in the middle of nowhere where people try to simultaneously larp as country hicks and suburbanites without the good qualities of either.

Also known as most suburbs. I live in a place where there’s very little downtown and it’s mostly suburbia stretching for miles upon miles of cookie cutter housing. Some of the most depressing shit you’ll see, until you see rural decay.

Hey, there's something bugging me about this; Everybody's talking about how they tanked the movement with this really bad interview, but... was there really anything to tank? Was there any kind of momentum or movement to be had? Was this fringe subreddit, on the same tier as those cat/dog/child hating subreddits, really picking up traction among people who matter?
As every self-important asshole does online, antiwork users leapt to co-opt the language of actual struggles, imagining themselves the street-level heroes who had linked arms and chanted in solidarity before being scattered by the powerful firehoses of Fox News oppressors.

In reality, there was no solidarity. 1.7 million morons were suddenly devastated to learn they'd been sharing silly fanfictions with each other on an actually anarchist sub.

Throughout the growth of the sub the limp-wristed jannies kept feebly trying to remind everyone of their true mission statement, being unwilling to yell at these normies to get out of their clubhouse and deluding themselves that maybe all these people were slowly being radicalized to their way of thinking. They weren't, of course. They were all there to talk about how they wrote "I QUIT" in Cool-Whip across their chest and high five each other.

So when Doreen mumbled to Fox what his clubhouse was about, all the normies died of collective embarrassment and screamed "you don't represent us, sweep the floor as you're told janny."

There was never a movement.

Yeah, I went on a whole thing about that earlier in the thread. Again unless your a machine operator.

Yeah, the level of time and precision framing is a real fucking issue for communicating with these people and they blitz past it anyway

Reddit, a site that worships moderators as if they're gods,
You realize they're just being polite, right? Most people are nice and respectful to IRL jannies too. Because they're afraid the person will quit as soon as they find literally anything better to do with their time.

Be happy that they are spazzing around ineffectively, effective socialism is known as fascism.

What? You're a piece of shit if you feel a compulsion to be a dick to real janitors. I'm nice to them because they are normal human beings doing a necessary job. And are typically sweet older people in my experience.

Sad thing, I've been to plenty of places in the country, and the town I'm describing is arguably a nicer place to live than most of them. Americans like to put all these artificial divisions between themselves, but let's be real and just admit most towns in America are pretty much indistinguishable from each other. You got one or two main roads that are nothing but fast food joints, car dealerships, and like one or two bars, and then miles of housing developments until you reach either a major city or you end up in places where shooting deer still makes up a significant portion of your diet. I think the thing that always made the flaws in my hometown pop to me isn't that it's especially bad, kind of the opposite, it's extremely fucking mundane. Like I'd visit people I know in Colorado or Georgia and there's just really no major difference in lifestyle going on. And if that's what counts as a success story I really don't want to know what failure is.

Sure, different strokes etc etc. I do miss having a yard. But I also don't miss raking it, you get me?

r/antiwork and r/workreform are now getting regular posts like "We Don't Need Conservatives" and "Fuck off right wingers looking for a home in this sub".

Does anyone really believe that anyone remotely conservative are clamoring to join, especially after that interview?
I'm guess they're cleansing the subs of the non-idpol left.
God forbid the people that actually work jobs join their movement. I'm sure the future commune poets and uniform designers know what they are doing.
