The independent owner-operators are getting selectively fucked in favor of corporate fleets because the little guy can't deal with the mandate overhead.

I know everyone wants to make this into a big anti-Trudeau government color revolution thing specifically about jabs. I get it. But it loses sight of what's really happening here. How expansive and invasive all of the mandates are and how they are killing small businesses. Why they really want this shit to continue.

Even if this all dissolves into a nothingburger, understand that this is an absolute victory over the authoritarian leftists up in Canada. They've worked extremely hard to blackout any mention of acknowledgement of protests against the lockdowns and mandates until now (something even nightmare Australia media didn't do), so the fact this is getting massive coverage, especially on an international scale, is making them seethe extremely hard.

Case in point, a 2007 join date Toronto reddit poster seething that their efforts to blackout any of the protests until now is crumbling:

I guess they didn't realize that our media pushes the lefty agenda not because they are true believers, but because the Liberal party donates millions of dollars to them. Unfortunately for them, our media are ultimately just greedy profiteers, so they couldn't resist the temptation of the outrage click money on the protest as the scale grew in size. That's also where the 1/6 narrative for this protest comes from, the media wants to whip up the fear and interest in their cowering lefty news consoomers so they remain glued to the story.

They could have won the psychological battle if they used their previous tactics of complete blackout on the coverage and acknowledgement of it, but this grew into something so large that they started getting international recognition and criticism for pretending it didn't exist, then pretending it was actually a protest about road conditions, lol.

Trudeau is scared he could get hurt thats about is, he could give a fuck less about the trucker you know it and I know it. Frankly a bit of protectionism isn't a bad thing you just don't want a cartel running the show. That said the bigger and more pressing issue of do you get bodily autonomy and are you a prisoner in your own home are things that can be done and need to be done first. Mission creep is how things fall apart quickly when you get to step 7 when your not even past 1.

Forgive the PL - I got the booster, primarily because I live with someone who’s immune system is kinda fucked as is, but I’m not gonna go out if my way to be a cunt about it, live and let live and all that shit. Fucking hell, I and a fair few people I talk to agree that at this point we all just need to either catch it and get it over with, or learn to fucking deal with it being around.

Instead, cocksuckers like Trudeau are doubling and tripling down on their Mandates - fuck, my frozen shithole of a province has even given up and said that we have to learn to live with it, but because I live West of Toronto no ones opinion here matters. So yeah, while I’m privately hoping that one of the truckers thats a Glownigger decided to ram something important, I just want to see an actually Peaceful Protest accomplish something, without burning and looting whatever city it takes place in.

Granted who gives a shit about Ottawa

Start with that one specific issue. go from there. anything a lot of people would prefer a general mandate thing as stated goal but the specific one works. With the rise in fuel cost and enviro regulations on vehicles going the way they are those owner opperators will be fucked on the end your talking about anyway. But a few small bodily autonomy wins go a long way as rights go no?
 
Report from friend: he's 200m from Parliament, describes it as more patriotic than Canada Day. Lots of singing, waving the flag around, and there's a ton of First Nations people there playing the drums. The protesters are also setting off fireworks. Discord isn't letting him send photos or videos.

The media being forced to live cover this brings a tear to my eye. It's really nice knowing this country ain't as cucked as thought, that there's a lot who think similar and are willing to stand up for what should be basic, unalienable freedoms. Honk on you fine bastards, for once we can be proud to be Canadians.

The only reason I got the vaccine is because there are such poor social structures in place and my socio economic background that even a small chance of possibly not being able to pay my expenses was a good enough reason for me.

I did not get boosted because they locked down the province and provided even less support than before to the people who legitimately could not work because of the new mandates. At this rate I might be better off if I did get sick, so I no longer care to experiment with vaccines.

Its interesting to still see everyone bring up so many issues but in reality the issues that exist also existed long before the pandemic and covid and by no longer having to wear a mask or having vaccination mandates it resolves very little of a problem that was exasperated to its Nth degree. It's almost like Trudeau could just follow suit with the UK to pacify their demands and its all over.

He doesn't work on weekends though.
