Sam Hyde

Ian constantly kvetching about how a comedian keeps making jokes instead of rolling over and letting him fuck him like the retards hes used to "trolling"

It just reminds me of that comment earlier in the thread: Iddubz is genuinely confused as to why Sam Hyde doesn't just neuter himself to exist on youtube or tiktok. At least assuming Iddubz himself isn't putting on an act pretending he's grown up.

After watching this in full, I get the impression that iDubbz released this mostly as originally intended, as he is not completely deaf to what the internet wants, however there are some portions I believe were re-edited as carefully as he possibly could to avoid raising suspicion.

The irony explanation portion, I believe was inserted after the fact as a means to chastise Sam and protect himself at the same time for the interview portion of the documentary.

The spliced interview commentary during the interview are highly edited, more so than anytime they occur in the rest of the documentary, this leads me to believe this was put in after Sam's release, as yet another way to protect himself.

Kinda liked iDubbbz when he did stuff with MaxMoeFoe and Filthy Frank, but this was pretty gay.
A lot of armchair psychological analysis. And this wannabe Louis Theroux shtick got old fast.

Then he glossed over nearly of decade of content that Sam/MDE has out there and he jumped straight to World Peace.
What's the point of a doc when you're gonna leave a major chunk of his life out?
(and the fucking misinterpretation of WP that the public wasn't meant to be "in on the joke" lmao. You just didn't get it you midwit)

The whole tangent about irony feels like his way of coping and seething about the fact that he got out-fucking-played by Sam this time.
He even has this uncomfortable "smile through the pain" meme expression on his face most of the time.
Props for releasing the footage but it's just digging your hole even deeper.
Even the people in his comment section are a bit divided.

Why would you even make a "takedown doc" on a guy who's absolutely cancelled beyond hope?

The use of classic MDE tunes throughout the video was a nice touch though. And the editing and some of the drone shots were neat too.
(Sorry if I repeat any points here, wrote it as I watched it.)

idubbz didn't censor Joey Gambino's name like Weck asked him to in the Hydewars vid, lol

So idubbz is disappointed that Sam is not like a modern celeb/entertainer with a personal presence and is "confused" as to why he'd choose to keep his private life and motivations private like a pre-internet classic entertainer. He's also disappointed that he wasn't allowed to be part of his friends' group.

And that's a "detriment" to Sam (as idubbz said), why? Does idubbz seriously believe that since MDE content is on a social platform that he as a fellow content creator deserves unfettered access to everything about him and the fans deserve it too?

E: I also feel like idubbz could have easily used all the shot content to make a mockumentary style video after the prank was revealed, or have it be some other type of project instead of just admitting defeat on his primary purpose nad making himself look like a chump

Just finished it, was enjoyable. I think people taking this as a takedown doc are missing the point - iDubbz went to interview Hyde and Hyde punked him instead. I'm sure Ian intended to release a documentary, so not getting to do that and instead spending days filming a giant prank would be disappointing.

iDubbz has become such a cuck about humor and life though, I struggle to understand how the 'niggerfaggot' guy is now the one practically begging Sam to wear a mask in the drive thru. Confronting him about his GF and asking if he's getting her help is so weasily too, and I struggle to understand how he didn't realize the whole thing was a bit from the get-go - so many red flags that should have given it away but he just accepted it all as it fit his fantasy of what an alt-right crazy guy should look like.

In that way, I agree Hyde owned him - he painted a ridiculous picture that nobody should believe except lunatics who think 'alt-right' people live that way and got one of those lunatics to buy it hook line and sinker.

His description of Irony -> Post-Irony -> Post-Post-Irony is pretty good, but I think he misses the mark at the end of it. It's not just a way to create an impenetrable defense shield, it's a comedic way to present true sentiment without the strings of reality attached. Meta-Irony is just Hyperbolic-Sentiment without the sentiment needed to be valid. In an example:
  • "Biden is the *greatest* president" - Irony
  • "I forced my gf and her bf to vote for Biden #teamblue" - Post Irony
  • "Biden shouldn't just be the president, he should be the King" - Meta-irony
Where post-irony parodies irony, post-post irony parodies post-irony, pushing the sentimental value behind the thought to it's breaking point beyond the realms of what should be acceptable. But this doesn't make any of it true for the speaker, so it doesn't lead directly back to sentiment.

Dunno if it's just the bubble he's created around himself over the years as far as the people he interacts with but seeing both sides of the documentary and mostly Ians side really shows he's so far out of touch.
