There are some things that are basic truths about this whole situation
1. Sam owned Ian. Sam realized easily Ian only had one intention: to use Sam to further his own ‘meta‘ of a content cop against problematic people. Ian unlike I believe unautistic youtubers believes his own BS that he is some kind of force against fake and bastard people that need to be exposed. He made a plan to interact and make a video doc showing a failed star that had become a crazy sperg. Sam while being weird is not so black and white he cannot see this coming and uses it to gaslight Ian because it was hilarious to him and that’s what he really cares about. And Ian really didn’t see what the situation was because he is so full of his ego.
2. Most of the internet doesn’t care. After seeing ian cuck out and the years since content cop was relevant the impact to his reputation was basically ‘yeah we knew that already’. Ian already has his niche sychophantic group this won’t deter them and everyone else has seen what Ian is and doesn’t care but it’s funny to see Ian take a paid for crackwhore at her word. The real damage came a while ago ian cannot clown anyone because he is a clown himself.
3. Even Ian didn’t give quality reactions to some shit. From the gaslight doc we see Sam planned far more than the footage shows. The lack of footage shows Ian probably reacted to a lot of it like it was a ruse cruise because for all his stupidity he knows enough about social media to know not to powerlevel or show reaction to staged crap. Maybe that footage exists but I doubt it.
4. Ian is fucking locked into his persona. He buys his own BS and doesn’t realize or actively acts in cognitive dissonance over what he has become. I doubt Ian really knows who he is anymore only that his thot gives him meaning and he has bought wholeheartedly into keeping her with him. Fuck at this point I could see a path where Ian troons out just because he is so codependent on someone else. It is sad but if you look at the breadth of his work I bet you would find clues this is the case. He doesn’t know who he is without someone validating him. He is that self unaware.
the conclusion I get from both is never buy your own hype. Always self reflect or you end up losing who you are and will either be some stupid fake human or hyper aware sperg who only sees everything as a game. Sam and Ian are very damaged people in different ways but one is riding that into destruction and one is trying to subvert it probably also to destruction. Existence is a fantastic joke of chance never take yourself seriously and maybe you won’t end up like this.
It goes without saying while most human interaction involves a self agenda somewhat it is never has been so blatant as frankly stupid as the rise of reality tv and internet ecelebs. Everyone in these two mediums are either so fake you never know who they really are or are so invested into their hype they lose their own personality to their characters’. There are really few who do stuff like this and just maintain a real humanity and that is pitiable and pathetic. I really want to see what someone like Markiplier or the Grumps look like in thirty years or someone who has maintained a separation of their personality and character. It must be incredibly taxing to maintain.
