IIRC, there was a plan, but it was scrapped as part of the "nullify everything Trump did" rush of EOs.Granted 20 odd years and "emergency pull out" should be set in stone but apparently not.
Ok, so here is what I don't get, nobody likes the "smartest guy in the room", not to mention that this notion also morphs into the "holier than thou" self-righteous virtuosity that seems to be associated with the democrats.
I get that you gotta send the message of standing for the right and just causes and all that jazz, but is the democrat's bubble so thick that they can't see how offputting and unpleaseant they come across to anyone else looking from the outside, regardless of what polices or political inclinations people might have?
I mean, fuck, even their more recent charismatic leaders like Obama or even AOC can barely disguise their contempt for the people whenever they don't get a reaction they expect, a attitude of "Why won't these idiots just LISTEN TO ME!" that people do pick up behind their smiles and glass eyed looks.
Was Bill Clinton the last person on the democratic party that knew how to act like a human being? And not some philosopher king descended from the heavens to guide us to Xanadu or some shit.
Because objectvely, the Democrats shouldn't be losing elections, at all. They dominate the mass culture, the social medias and most of the press, and the grip they have on these is very strong, so, again, why can't they grasp the simple notion that no one likes this "we know better whats best" attitude and just adress the public as if they were their equals, and not some cattle that is about to get "educated", or if they have all the solution for all the problem, and all people have to do is just trust "their betters", when said "betters" know nothing about their lives.
I can't remeber where i've got it, and google isn't helping (and it was in portuguese), but once I've read that "politics is the art to shake hands and look people in the eye", and the meaning is simple, you gotta be one of the people to win them over, and a fucking billionaire weirdo with a crazy comb over managed to do that, how come there isn't a single leader on the democratic party that can do that?
Don't forget that one of Obama's speech writers joined the writing staff in the later seasons of the show.I'll also toss in that West Wing is hyper neo-liberal and DINO-esque (a running subplot is one of Bartlett's main goals of his administration is to slash medicare/medicaid/and "reform" social security in a way that would be a wet dream for conservatives. It's a major product of it's time in terms of being steeped in pre-Obama Clinton/Third Way politics, which makes the left's fascination with the show all the more insane, though the show's status as Bush II era hugbox fanfiction and Sorkin's elitist opinions on the public in general, probably helps overcome that dealbreaker with left wing narcissists who made up Obama's inner circle and footsoldiers in Washington, since it feeds their ego that they are the chosen ones and anyone who doesn't think 100% like them the rabble who need to shut the fuck up and be herded like ignorant cats by the elites.
Since they're so obsessed with stats, have they heard about 13/50?Hyperfixation, to the expense of other important matters. Seething rage at anything and anyone that contradicts them and proves them wrong. Ineffectual gaslighting, handicapped by their own inability to keep a narrative straight. Complete inability to read a room or understand the people. A near fanatical obsession with 'science' and stats to try and explain people and the world instead of observing and picking up cues like a normal person. Doubling down on things that make people go what the fuck, on the vain hope that if they power through it will make sense in the end.
Guys, is the Democratic Establishment Autistic?
The original plan from the Doha Agreement in 2020 (which involved the USA and Taliban but not the Afghanistan government) was to withdraw entirely by May 1 2021. Obviously all of this had involved the Trump administration. By January 2021 the American military in Afghanistan was reduced to 2,500 troops which was apparently the lowest amount there had been in the country since 2001. 18,000 contractors still remained in Afghanistan. Fast forward to the Biden administration and it was announced by Biden all regular US troops would be withdrawn by September 11 2021, the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks which was a date that carried a lot of symbolism with it. On May 1, 2021 which was the date originally agreed to for the US withdrawal in the Doha Agreement the Taliban launched a major offensive. July was when it became clear the Western-backed Afghan government was going to fall apart for sure as on July 2 Germany and Italy withdrew their forces while Bagram Airfield was vacated without immediately informing the local Afghan commander which resulted in ransacking of the base. By mid July the Taliban had seized over 130 districts from the ANA (for context there are 421 districts in Afghanistan). Then August came and the ANA continued its disintegration which lead to the debacle in Kabul. To give an explanation for such a poor peformance by the ANA, In 2019 it is said the ANA had approximately 180,000 soldiers but apparently many of these soldiers just existed on paper and not in reality (This isn't even considering the lack of morale and other factors).IIRC, there was a plan, but it was scrapped as part of the "nullify everything Trump did" rush of EOs.
have you seen the show? they are making fun of democrats the whole time.
Fraiser is pathetic.
Al Bundy on the other hand is a real man.
Stoneheart is right. Frasier was a send up of Democrats now that I think about it. Every episode was Frasier trying to move up in society by lying or pretending to be something he wasn't only to be smacked down again. That the elites were just as fucked up as the pub Frasier left in "Cheers."
Really, he should have just stayed at that pub.
Axios has a report that a lot of stuff hadn't been decided by August 15th. Like, Biden's administration was completely and utterly unprepared for the Taliban to roll in Kabul like they never left.
Granted 20 odd years and "emergency
it's more arrogance from people who think they are the smartest people in the room, let alone the nation, combined with a notion of 'knowing what's best for everyone", a combination of Scarlet O'Hara-esque "I'll think about it tomorrow"ism and 5D chess involving putting off solving issues needing solving so they can use the carrot of fixing them to keep voter turn-out high (see student loan debt forgiveness), and a sense of "never again!"ism born out of how far the Democrats fell under Bush II after the Clinton years and how 9-11 truly made it so that the GOP was on the brink of a permanent super-majority.
Not exactly.
While Fraiser DOES spoof and mock the liberal elites, the show itself hinges a lot on a long game character growth arc started on Cheers. That Fraiser began his existence as a snooty liberal elite who none the less, ends up via Diane hanging out with a bunch of blue collar types who under normal circumstances he would NEVER hang out with and over the course of Cheers, he manages to remove the stick firmly wedged up his ass and become less of a snob and more willing to treat the poor and middle class types as equals and not be snot nosed about it, to the point that he (post-spin off retcon) told everyone his dad was dead and that he had no siblings.
This transfers over to Fraiser proper, where Fraiser's still part of the liberal elite but is far more humble and willing to treat poor and working class folks like Roz, Daphney, etc like equals and actually be friends with them. Along with reconciling with his blue collar police officer father who pre-Cheers Fraiser disowned to the point of telling people he was dead.
Opposite him is Niles, who in terms of dynamics, is what Fraiser was when we were first introduced to him and would have become had he never met Diane, Sam, etc. Snobby, snotty, dislike poor people, and living (unhappily) with his wife among the liberal elites of Seattle.
The dynamic of the brothers is that Fraiser's grown as a person and becoming the catalyst of growth for Niles, especially since it's through Fraiser that Niles meets Daphney, a poor Scottish immigrant who is working as a live in nurse for their dad, who shakes Niles up inside and ultimately leads him to end his loveless nightmare marriage with Maris and facilitates Niles's growth as a human being.
pull out" should be set in stone but apparently not.
And yet another "Well Actshuallly, Inflation and Debt Are a Good Thing" article:

Sounds like you're dooming for nothing @Gehenna !

They must have stolen the election then.Don't forget that one of Obama's speech writers joined the writing staff in the later seasons of the show.
I still think that Arnie Vinick should have won the election, not Matt Santos.
Kamala Harris staffers seem to always be coming and leaving, her communications director left in November 2021, her adviser and chief spokeswoman left in December 2021, and top this all off her deputy director of public engagement and intergovernmental affairs also left to go do something else. From what I read one reason why they keep leaving is that staff are reportedly frustrated Biden keeps giving Harris tough assignments such as reducing illegal immigration. Adding to this the vice president allegedly has a "soul-crushing" management style. Also another kamala staffer left.
https://noahreport.com/another-kamala-harris-aide-resigns/
Her freaking speech writer.
This is creepy and fascinating at the same time.By all accounts, this is super common to the point that even left wingers types like Chappo Trap House actively call it out, with Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Dan Pfeiffer, and Tommy Vietor (the Obama dick sucker boys who formed "Pod Save America" after Obama left office to cry about not being Presidential aides with access to all sorts of power and privilege anymore) in particular being called out as people who believe The West Wing was real life and based their careers as party hacks as one live action West Wing TV show larp where they are all Marty Stu saving America like on the TV show.
I hope every other city has the smarts to take one good look at NYC and go "nah fuck that".
Biden is best known for stealing ideas from others look at build back betterFuck al-Qurashi and fuck the Air Force's habit of blowing up Blackhawks for shits and giggles. Why don't we talk about the fact Psaki and Ron Klain literally stole the "cancer cabinet" idea from The West Wing?

Marines reportedly told to clean graffiti insulting Taliban at Kabul airport
Departing Marines from the Kabul airport gave a one-finger salute to the Taliban and ISIS, scrawling obscene messages on the facility’s walls — but were told by commanders to erase the graffiti before they left, according to a report.
The Marines were ordered to destroy equipment the military was leaving behind at Hamid Karzai International Airport as the withdrawal was winding down, the Washington Post reported.
They smashed electronics with sledgehammers, shattered windows and stripped armored vehicles to render them useless to the Taliban.
But many of the Marines, still seething over the deaths of 13 US service members outside the airport in an ISIS-K suicide bombing, left some choice words for the terrorists.
Images on social media showed a group of Marines posing in front of a wall at the airport with the words “F–k isis, AFG 2021” scrawled across it in black paint.
“F–k ISIS + Taliban” was written on the wall, along with a drawing of a penis.
A Marine told the Washington Post that they were ordered to wash the taunting messages away and clean up the debris before they left the airport.
“My boys had to go … pick up every last piece of … trash for who? The Taliban?” the Marine, who was not identified, told the newspaper.
“It was a slap in the face to us,” the Marine said.
Marine spokesman First Lt. Jack Coppola said the messages were painted over and trash was collected to ensure debris didn’t impact flights, but he didn’t say why the graffiti had to be removed.
The Marines, along with Army soldiers, were among the contingent of troops deployed to the airport to provide security and to help screen Afghans who were trying to flee the return of Taliban rule in the country.
Seriously is ot just me are have the military becomes pussies under BidenI'm not sure if this is related, but remember that the Marines for forced to wash off their "Fuck the Taliban/ISIS" graffiti off of the bathrooms so they wouldn't offend them.

I'll leave where we are going a secret.
I don't care what happens. I'm not leaving. I'm not running. I still believe in my neighbors, my town, my country, even if it stopped believing in itself.
I've undergone hardship before, I can handle it again.
Less dooming and more Biden L's.
It almost certainly will since the laws are all so similar as to be nearly indistinguishable. What's hilarious is that Cuomo and Hochul's shilling for gun control is literally helping pro-gun people right now. Hear of New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen? Supreme Court heard oral arguments for that back in like... November, I think, and it seems ready to strike NY's gun control laws down. Seems like the verdict on that case might also affect the laws in California and a few other states.
God, I'm practically salivating at imagining the sort of gymnastics the state's lawyers have to get up to to argue AWB's aren't arbitrary and nonsensical. There are two major cases as the New York case is based on concealed carry and there is one against Maryland, that will nuke all AWBs in states like California and New York.
Jesus, talk about horrifying. I hope they replaced them with nothing but scrawled dicks, at least.I'm not sure if this is related, but remember that the Marines for forced to wash off their "Fuck the Taliban/ISIS" graffiti off of the bathrooms so they wouldn't offend them.

The issue, simply put, is that additional restrictions on gun ownership, no matter how draconian, will not change that shit. The places with the highest rates of gun crime in the USA are also, coincidentally, the ones with the most restrictions on gun ownership. Similarly, most guns used in violent crimes and shootings are illegal guns - stolen, acquired blackmarket, or otherwise not on file with a legitimate owner. When will they give up is the real question since they overall keep losing ground.
Though the thing is that many of the old guard liberals like Shannon Watts want the 2nd amendment gone.
The newer bunch of liberals and progressives are a split.
Though there is a correlation between college, youth, female and household income when it comes to the biggest opposition to the 3nd amendment.
There are also sheboons and niggreses who want the 2nd amendment gone because their niglet spawn, who like guns, keep shooting each other for honor.
