Canadian Truckers Convoy 2022 - The Leaf calls you a Nazi as he gasses you

I love it's gotten to the point now where half of the "counter protestors" rubbed their two brain cells together and realize that it can't be "literally like a couple dozen people protesting" while simultaneously blocking an entire city's traffic, so now it's that they are terrorists and protesting the wrong way, despite causing literally no damage to the city and even cleaning it up in a few ways

It’s a siege without the pillaging.
Ottawa city council meeting ongoing:
Sloly says that officers have been working 16-18 hour days so far and haven't taken a single one off since this began. Hell, he just said this is going to continue into the spring and summer!
Wonder if there’s going to be resignations since “we don’t get paid enough for this shit”.

I fucking hate that sentence.

"Silence is violence!"

No, violence is me caving in your hamburger eating device with a fucking set of brass knuckles, faggot.
The import of "Silence is Violence" is that you can treat people who don't support you of their own volition as enemies and punish them for their "violence".

That's all it means when you strip away the childish rhyme.

I'm actually really interested in the hard numbers of all this. Particularly the Truckers, and the standoff on the border.

Welcome to clown world, there are no brakes, but plenty of horns.

This isn't happening in a vacuum. Our supply lines are already fragile as hell. And now a major trade route has been closed for four whole days, and a significant portion of Canada's backbone has realized that they have a spine and it's made of fucking steel.

I really, really want to know how this is fucking up Canada's supply chain. Occupy wallstreet was right, hit the pigs in the pocketbook. They just went about it wrong. But this? With just in time manufacturing, I wonder who's feeling the heat from this. Oink oink.

Things seem a little hectic in downtown Vancouver at the moment.

The centres of Toronto, Ottawa and Quebec City are also flooded.

Again, when BLM and associates burn down towns and ruin the livelihoods of small business owners and local employees it’s legitimate protest because making martyrs out of convicted felons who had one bad encounter with the police too many is the most important thing we can do. When people want to be left alone to conduct their business in their own way and object to governmental reach into every aspect of their lives, that’s literal fascism and pretty much exactly how Hitler happened. Learn the lesson here, chud.

I know truckers IRL. If you think people whose entire job is to grind out 12+ hour road trips as fast and efficient as humanly possible nonstop will give up the second things start being a little uncomfortable, good luck with that.

Same for farmers, the core of this protest is people whose jobs are literally working their asses off snow or shine. I'm not worried about their resolve.

I've been wondering about the numbers too, like no one on either side is even counting the trucks, I've only heard general numbers - Coutts/Milk River is "thousands" of people, Ottawa is "hundreds" of trucks.
From the protester side that might be a strategic move, since it makes them look like they have way more people than they actually might. But then the fact that the MSM or govt hasn't given a hard number about Ottawa (afaik) makes me wonder if it really is way bigger than we can see, and they don't want people to realize it.

I went on tumblr to look for salt and it's hilarious

The first one is my favourite: "When WE protest, at least we're fucking miserable! Look at these nazis, having fun, it's not a REAL protest unless you're hUrTiNg!!!"
Dude gets eaten alive in the replies though which is funny as fuck.

The contrast between this "protest" and all the other ones I've been to is so telling. These ppl are out there having fun and being entitled as fucking hell taking up space and being loud as they can. When I go to a real protest the mood is like dour and ppl actually hurting and looking to heal. It's maddening.
This dude is so fucking retarded, it's unreal. If you look at Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals, a publication by his side of the spectrum, you'll find Rule #6, "A good tactic is one your people enjoy." Anyone who has organized a protest that is "dour" has fucked up their job of organizing the protest. I can see MAYBE certain contexts where it would not be out of place for a protest to be dour, such as a candlelit vigil mourning some death, but even in that case it's not universal. There are plenty of cultures that do a big wake-type party where everyone gets drunk and has a good time in celebration of the life of the deceased.

But especially with this Freedom Convoy, of course people are overjoyed. We've been subject to a two year psyop, where there's a media blackout about any dissent. It was depressing, and it is refreshing to be surrounded by people who also want to see changes made. And much of what they're protesting about, be it mask mandates, vax passports, etc, are already de facto "lifted" among the truckers and to some extent in Ottawa at large (what can the police do about it?). Of course people are overjoyed to see each other's smiling faces again, to be able to participate in group activities, even just to hug one another. What they're protesting for is that the freedoms already joyously present at the demonstration be reinstated throughout society in perpetuity.

Western individualism is a disease. There is no sense of community.
Again, unbelievable retardation. The reason people are so happy at the protest is to finally have a sense of community again, after being atomized and isolated by covid restrictions; spending two years alone getting blasted with fear porn.

Ultimately, it's such a horrifically bad take that I have to suspect it's satire. Even the account name and pic seem a bit too silly to be real.

its a guilt trip to get fence sitters to join your cause.

all the "our protests were healing the hurt" is anti toxic masculinity, soyboy emotional vulnerability that became popular in the 2010s.

Good job, Notley. Just when everyone is terrified that Kenney's tinpot dictator routine is tanking the Cons so hard that you have a chance, you decide to criticize him for not being enough of a tinpot dictator. Brilliant.
She has no chance. Jason Kenney won for being nothing other than "Not Rachel Notley" and still smashed the NDP.

The NDP was totally unprepared for government last time and when they accidently won, they managed to accomplish almost nothing in their entire time with a supermajority aside from a dumb move to regulate whether kids on farms can do certain jobs, and changes to the education curriculum that were dropped by Kenney the minute he came in.

They have nothing to offer other than being the opposition. They could have had her step aside and repalce her with someone with fresh ideas or at least appeals to their base like the nutcase Shannon Phillips. Instead they kept Premier Karen on long after her expiration date, I doubt it will serve them well next election.
