I don't understand the machismo they're trying to attach to these bullies. Bulldogs look like a demon that was a banker in his past life, you can have a giant dog, or you can have one that looks like a wild predator. I think that pit bulls actually look really stupid, but they've got "gangster cred" or however these people would describe a reputation for unhinged violence. Bullies only have the docility that naturally comes with catatonia patients for staying inside your hovel. They're bred to be prisoners instead of something that belongs in prison.

They might have initially wanted them small because small dogs are logistically easier to deal with. Lots of apartment buildings have weight limits for dogs, they’re cheaper to board, less food to store, and they fit in small cars more comfortably. Retaining some pit characteristics keeps their retard macho points. Pits are high energy and need activity, bullies are lazier, another positive to people who want a dog as a prop.

It caught on because it’s a status symbol. Small is good so smaller is better. Smushed face is “cute” so smush it more. More deformed = more expensive so they breed for extreme.

Now it’s a subculture with a life of it’s own. Like when people lower their cars and run negative camber wheels. It looks stupid to everyone else to them, the more extreme to better, fuck functionality (health in the dogs case).

Not sure if it’s because I’m on mobile but the videos aren’t showing, who is the breeder so I can go look on IG lol. Not sure if you’ve seen the Bullycamps bullshit lately but it’s BAD. They posted some female recently who looked like she had dwarfism and was struggling to both stand and breathe, hips were fucking atrocious.

I know there are still some legit AmBully breeders out there breeding correct functional dogs but this other group…ugh…they’ve taken the dogs that were considered garbage toad dogs 10-15 years worse and made them even more fucked up.

Side note Bully Markets Beastro passed away this month at 12 proof that bullies don’t have to be freaks with 2 year life spans.

I was trying to find an x-ray image or skeleton of one of those toadline bullies for the sake of curiosity/shock value (I couldn't find anything and if anyone can deliver that would be great), but I find it interesting that a lot of social media posts and articles calling for a ban or discussing the "ethics" of breeding those things are either removed or a dead link. There is a closed petition from five years ago and a few blogs up directly referencing the toadline bullies but not much else. Have these breeders been known to go after people or is it just a coincidence?
