Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Hopefully we got some closer for Mando and we just don't see Grogu until the end of s3 of Mando. Where he rocks up with Luke. Trained, wearing Jedi Robes with the chain mail undershirt.
I dunno if Disney will be able to resist keeping in him as many episodes as possible, that thing is a merch demon. Narratively speaking it would make a lot of sense to have Grogu appear once Din's completed his vision quest or whatever and purifies himself. As for the sequels, I've spoken before about how Disney's words don't match their actions and how all their upcoming content seems to focus on moments BEFORE the sequels rather than AFTER. Hell, the only one that seemed new (Rogue Squadron) got cancelled.

You mean these ones?

Aside from Filoni's support for Rey replacing Luke and his input in TLJ, he also learned about live action production from Rian Johnson, and he even convinced Rian to watch Filoni Wars.

I'm sure Doomcock will still claim that Dave is still totally going to troll Rian by retconning the sequels despite that TLJ is the most referenced of the sequels in Dave's live action stuff.

@Rome's rightful successor Kanan, Filoni's break out character from Aladdin's Rebels. When he died he was reborn as a Loth Wolf that has his birth name which is based on an old idea Filoni's had since his days working on Filoni Wars, where he thought there were a lot of parallels between jedi and wolves and felt they should somehow be connected, so he ends up making it so jedi are reborn as wolves that can bend space and time when they die. The final season of Aladdin's Rebels even ends with extra wolfisms, with wolves helping the heroes, the main character entering the core of the universe itself which is filled with images of wolves, wolf cave paintings decorating the murals of the gods, wolves replacing the mural of the gods once the magic begins, and the final shot of the show features the characters immortalized in stained glass as two giant wolves watch over them.

This is what happens when you suffer the furry to live.

"NOOOO DAVE FILONI LOVES ME HE WOULD NEVER BETRAY ME BY LIKING THE SEQUELS"
Also learning how to direct from Rian Johnson is like taking English lessons from Chewbacca.

I've said it before, but if you had a choice between a shitty Chinese knockoff cashgrab and the real thing, which would you choose? The OT era is still the "real thing".

I mean, Palpatine had sex in Disney Star Wars. Or more than likely he raped a few women, because who want to have sex looking at that face?
It was retconned in the novelisation, there Rey’s father is a clone of Palpatine that was considered defective as it displayed no Force ability.

Kanan Jarrus. He appears to Space Aladdin as a Loth-wolf named Dume (after his birth name Caleb Dume)
Imagine being George Lucas and having the lore and world of your universe you created getting hijacked and retcon by a furfag so that he could jack off to wolfs some more.

Then why doesn't he look like Ian McDermid?

Oh yeah, because JJ never gave a fuck. None of them did. The novelizations for these movies only exist to cover up plotholes that the people making the movies should have fixed themselves, but didn't, because the piece of shit still made a billion dollars so they didn't care.

Speaking of Rey's parents, imagine being one of the fans who spent years speculating on who they could be, just to get shit on twice by two separate directors, without ever realizing that TFA already answered the question: the identities of Rey's parents was never important.

“Perfection. I'm a freaking genius.
(And then Ahsoka came back to life for a third time)

Filoni is like all of George's worst autistic impulses and ideas without any of the good ideas George had.

By the way, someone on STC brought up a very interesting question: how big is the Filoni Wars fanbase really? You'd have to consider the amount of people who grew up watching it on Cartoon Network as kids back in the day, those who liked the PT (which is notoriously divisive) and care enough about it and its lore to watch it, general Star Wars consoomers, and those people who just want to fuck Ahsoka. I imagine a large amount of people would ignore it just because it's a cartoon aimed at children. I will say I'm pretty sure Filoni Wars got some of the highest ratings any CN show has had.

How would revealing orange jailbait or Cad Bane play for an audience who probably only like the OT and have no idea who they're supposed to be or why they're important?

No need to follow the will of the force or w/e. It also makes the jedi council's reluctance to train Anakin really stupid. It'd be an olympic team seeing a guy with a 3 minute mile but rejecting them for the track & field team because he's 25.
It makes no sense if the only thing that makes someone eligible to be a Jedi is having high power levels, but it's not. The Council didn't reject Anakin because he wasn't powerful enough or even necessarily because they didn't think he was the Chosen One, they did it because he had too many attachments that might cause problems in the future, already had signs of being reckless, and had fundamental misunderstandings of what being a Jedi meant. They were ultimately too rigid in their beliefs, despite being right about Anakin, but being a Jedi fundamentally requires a discipline that Anakin was unwilling to learn or never had.

It’s really insidious how much he undid others work, check it.

Ventress, spooky goth psycho who is a foil to Anakin and one of the many “proto-Vaders” from the Prequel era. Dave turned her into a snarky femme-fatale “who didn’t do nuthin wrong”, she’s the victim.

Grievous, a tormented and broken man who fought a long war and lost. Unwillingly turned to a T-800 and turned loose upon the Republic. Dave turned him into a Saturday morning cartoon villain

Boba Fett, a boy forced into the “family business” and tossed into an uncaring galaxy. Through his wits and ruthlessness he puts himself on the path. Dave turned him into a sniveling brat who gets mogged at every opportunity and thrown into adult prison before he is eighteen.

Count Dooku, political idealist/fallen knight who genuinely wants succession and has ambition beyond being a Sith. Dave turned him into a cliche Sith with no depth.

Must I go on?

So is Filoni the Rick Berman or the Alex Kurtzman of Star Wars?

No. Berman was an unimaginative cretin who revered Rodenberry and saw Star Trek as his bread ticket.

He never went off the rails like Kurtzman or JJ have. Filoni is the worst of both. He's the parasite that wormed his way into something he didn't create and stayed around long enough to rise to a position he doesn't deserve and can't properly perform like Berman. Unlike Berman, he hasn't surrounded himself with competent people and let them do the work. He's also not Kurtzman. Kurtzman does not give a fuck about Trek. You'd never see anything as cringe as Filoni bragging about ice cream makers or Vader's helmet lenses.

Filoni's what happens if you get a fake geek girl whose more into the minutiae of Star Wars cinema history, mistake that for being a real Star Wars fan, then give said fake geek girl an ever more important position making Star Wars.

The flip side of Berman and Kurtzman is Ron Moore and Nicholas Meyer. Both of them are talented versions of both.

A friend of mine lent me his D+ account to watch FiloniWars since I'd never seen it before. He warned me going in to drop my expectations for Dooku and Grievous like a rock. I'm glad he did because holy plot holes did Filoni destroy those two. I thought the opening of Revenge of the Sith did Dooku dirty, but it has nothing on how much FiloniWars sucks what little nuance AotC suggested he had out. It's like George and he were on a mission to make sure nobody in the audience would ever have to think for themselves about the moral issues presented by a galaxy-spanning civil war. That seems like peak George and his devotion to the old Flash Gordon serials. Filoni learned the lesson well and has taken that into his D+ shows as well as his inability to stop himself from spreading his OCs everywhere. Hondo is inevitable, I'm calling him for Mando season 3 now. Also calling that whatever depth the first season had was largely Favreau's doing and we'll see less of it as he gets more hands off.

In short, Filoni is indeed a hack and whatever brief hopes Mando season 1 might've kindled in me that Star Wars was salvageable have been blackpilled by the worst parts of Mando season 2 and Boba Fett Gets Cockblocked by Din Djarin.

Why did you watch something you knew you wouldn't enjoy?
