In what is possibly my most autistic moment on the Internet, I just picked up on the fact that Gura pronounced ketchup as catchup during the apex stream. So now I am wondering if there is even any regional dialect that does this or if Gura is just special? Because as much as I think she's likely from somewhere in the northern portion of the states, I can't say I recall anyone of any accent calling it 'catchup'.

Gura's definitely the biggest but she's a big fish in what is still a fairly small (albeit quite lucrative) pond. Ask most people who aren't bigtime weebs who Gawr Gura is and they'll think you have trouble speaking.

was in Japan a decade ago and the little bit l saw of host clubs from the outside and advertising/videos, completely different from that man holy shit

My only "experience" with host clubs were story-related visits in Yakuza Kiwami (takes place in 2005), but yeah - the hosts there were dressed in suits and didn't look like whatever it is in the picture. Times have changed.
(Also I've heard that some hostesses doing the same job for male customers take their money and go to host clubs after their shifts, so the money flows in a closed circle I guess.)

Still doesn't really seem like this situation is picking up a lot of traction - the person who tried to blackmail her is probably fucked either way (maybe they will commit sudoku instead of going to court). Personally I think it's only fair that Matsuri should be able to cultivate her own parasocial relationships with soy boys.
