It would be fucking hilarious if they could somehow keep this convoy going for 4-5 months, but that just sounds too good to be true.

They've blocked off the entire downtown core to traffic, way way way beyond the hospitals. Now, I don't see how the police blocking a street makes things any better than the truckers blocking it, but w/e.

Crowd was a little sparse compared with other cities imo, but to be fair, Ottawa is a ~4 hour drive from Toronto, so most who would have gone to Toronto are probably already in Ottawa.

If anything it makes the problem much worse. They're trading a bit of honking for a larger area of effect. With the roads blocked by police the truckers can just block further away roads knowing the police have it covered.

Closing the streets make it hard for pick-ups to bring containers of diesel fuel for the truckers to stay warm in their cabins.

They are trying to flush them out with freezing temps.

Didn't something like this happen during a crisis before? Where they formed a coalition? That also makes me wonder if it wouldn't be possible to petition the Queen. I'm not really plugged into how it works, just thinking out loud here.

2 months and the weather gets more bearable, I think they know this. If they can withstand this last week of like -20, -30, they're golden (aside from being forcibly removed of course)
