Is there like a maximum for the times the hearing can be postponed or can this go on for years?
Was a reason provided for why it was postponed again? I recall the first time it was because Chris' lawyer needed more time to get a mental health diagnosis done for Chris.
Answers provided further back in the thread:
There's always a limit. But remember that Chris is currently incarcerated. Multiple continuances are not a defense tactic given that it's prolonging Chris' time in jail. If Chris was walking free, maybe it would be a different story but Heilberg has no incentive to continue the case just to continue the case. I'm sure Chris is being difficult with the mental health evaluator or whatever.

It's also not terribly unusual to see a few continuances in a case anyway, so it's kind of a non-issue. I know we're all eager to see a resolution one way or the other but the wheels of justice move very slowly. It's just the way it is.
Copying from @Pointless Sperg since I can't quote their post directly:
Explaining this again too:

There's a hard limit on incarcerating him, not on the case itself. If the jail time exceeds the maximum sentence, he can request to be released without bail being an issue, and they have to let him go, but the court case can continue. He can then remain free as long as he makes his court dates. If he misses them, they can charge him with failure to appear and rearrest him and jail him as a flight risk.

It will not get to this point though. It will either be resolved within a year, or it will turn into a felony case in which case they can keep him in jail even if it takes ten years. Chris could also just voluntarily stay in jail longer since he has nowhere to go anyway. It will probably never get to this point though as this sort of shit annoys judges.

I know there's a lot of speculation about why he keeps getting continuances. I know it's common for some lawyers to do that for a slew of reasons, but I find it hard to believe it would: 1. take 5-6 months to get a mental health evaluation or 2. a judge would accept that they couldn't get it done in that time period. It must be something else. What? I don't know. Honestly for what Chris is being charged with I am beyond surprised they are even bothering with this, it just feels like a waste of everyone's time and money. The only benefit to any of it is for us to gawk at it and since none of it is public, we can't even do that.

Sometimes inmates receive paper infused with drugs. This is a standard practice.
I figured this was the reason, but I just couldn't see LSD being that popular. At 4:30 am I wasn't thinking about fentanyl, synthetic cannabis, or suboxone. Apparently suboxone was the drug of choice being smuggled into jails and prisons in western VA in recent years. Thanks!
(Not that I'm going to anything weird with paper products, it's just interesting to know.)

They are probablyvstill trying to get a mental health exam. The last three shrinks they sent in, came out painted up like the Joker (in crayole brand markers) and necked themselves.

I have to wonder if it's due Bella. I know that in the past, people have been convicted for influencing another's actions. Michelle Carter is one of the most notable examples I can think of as she was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for talking her boyfriend into killing himself. If Chris' lawyer is trying to get him the most lenient sentence, insanity will not work as Chris is 1, aware of what he did, and 2, aware that it was wrong. In that case, I believe the only other way to try to get out of the harshest sentence is to attempt to prove that Chris was influenced and in doing so, you would have to prove the guilt of the person who influenced him.

So these faggot progressive district attorneys seem bent on "respecting" the pronouns of convicts these days, do we know if the district attorney presenting the case here is a faggot progressive, or is CWC going to "slam-you-in-the-ass" men's prison? I'm sure someone somewhere addressed this either in this thread or another of the fifty million out there, I just can't pore through days of comments to answer this single question.

Chris's cases tend to go on for long periods of time with constant continuances before ending with disappointment.

This is pretty normal.

Is it possible, if he’s not taken to a mental home, or some care facility, taht would be a waste of time and the government sadly wants as little to dos with people like Chris as possible, that instead they get him an actual professional carer to check up on him and make sure he doesn’t screw anyone else or drown in his soup accidentally. A real professional disability carer, usually reserved for people with downs and severe autism, Chris has neither but heard clearly as low functioning, as everyone agrees can’t be trusted to be around vulnerable people anymore or have the sense to not get into massive trouble daily.

Would it work? Or would it be as expensive as giving him Section 8 housing or care in a home? Would it just be more unnecessary effort?

...as for the cheese pizza, well the only thing i can think of is there is that one comic where he had a little girl character made up just to ask to get nude for some shit, and they told her no.
It's interesting (and a little nauseating) to consider whether Chris has a taste for cheese pizza. He did once suggest two decidedly underaged MLP: FIM characters as a great shipping couple, and even enthused about art of them fingering each other, IIRC. And he also liked a Shadman drawing of an obviously pre-pubescent girl with pigtails in a crop top, with her chest being pointed at significantly by an unseen adult. Also, his fascination with Robee evolving into a still-underage teenage 'boy' sporting a massive hard-on and then blowing a giant load all over his sisters' bedroom carpet needs to be taken into account.

But no, I don't think that Chris is a kiddy-fiddler (then again, I never truly thought that he'd be into incest and look how that turned out). If there is some tiny shred of decency left in Chris, then maybe he considers sex with children somehow verboten (as, indeed, it should be) because children can't meaningfully consent to sex. Maybe that was a part of why he decided to boff Barb? 'Even if she doesn't consent,' reasoned Chris, 'she could do. Which is almost the same thing...'

Plus one of the Sonichu issues has a sex scene involving an underage OC.

Chris legit can't be left to his own devices at any given time outside of a secure facility - the real problem is his unpredictability. After all, the macing incident came out of nowhere and he's done other dumb shit like the glitter bomb to The End Games. Its never a question of if Chris is going to do something monumentally stupid that may hurt others, it's when.

I used to think Chris wouldn't rape a child because he's too autistic about the law, but after the Barb rape I no longer believe this.

Chris is such a gullible idiot that all it takes is for an underaged girl to promise she won't tell anyone in order for him to have sex with her. At best, he might have a cutoff point if the girl is like pre-pubescent.

These continuances are getting annoying. Chris should've been charged and sentenced for his actions unless they're looking for more evidence or the physical examination on Barb showed more. I think if they also suspect elder abuse they're looking into the health records. I'm not sure if Barb has had annual check-ups or if she's seen a doctor prior to this event.
Since Chris did take Barb's money without her permission when he was kicked out of his house then that could be a factor because that counts as Elder Financial abuse and tack that onto Elder Abuse then Chris might be getting an even longer sentence.
We'll never know because his lawyer is keeping everything under wraps from the public.

It really is mind-blowing that this nigger has been in jail this whole time with no resolution yet

theoretically, you're entitled to a decent number of continuances. though once he spends more than a year in prison, it'll be hard to keep justifying more and more of them. its one of those, are you acting in the best interest of the defendant issues. why do you need more than a year to defend an incest charge. this isn't a self defense case where there are a shit load of factors where an angles you can look at.
my theory is that his lawyer is hoping that he wont be charged for felony incest, so he can run out the clock on continuances and gets time served. he's also looking into get chris medical evaluations to declare him incoptement. probably to have him put in a group him or a medical institution.

It’s so he can serve his time in jail instead of prison. It could be that simple. This is normal.

I have to wonder if it's due Bella.
Bella is completely irrelevant.

These continuances are getting annoying.
Were you here for the macing incident?
Buckle up.

We'll never know because his lawyer is keeping everything under wraps from the public.
As he should.

Not really. Justice is slow.

It is exceedingly hard to do that and Chris doesn’t qualify.

Occam’s razor, everyone. The entertaining movie version is rarely reality. The simplest solution is usually correct.

criminally and mentally incompetent are 2 different things. to be criminally incompetent means you cant conceive that your actions are bad or wrong. we know chris does know his actions are bad. if he's mentally incopetent means he can't function on his own without someone to look over him. so he can technically finish out his sentence or in this case, probably finish it with time served, then be reccomended a group home or mental joint.
