"angry" gamers/critics

The one that sticks out is the one dude fucking Brad's girl (half of the bros gimmick), girl wants to have some three way open relationship and then Brad kicked them both out. Or maybe he stayed with girl? I'm a bit fuzzy. Wasn't that confirmed? Either way there's drama there and, again, more interesting than (insert female reviewer) fucked every male reviewer but LInkara. Very one note.
There are other stories and rumors about Lindsay, that's just the one I find funniest.

I've read this entire thread and here's just my two-cents:
Are you sitting comfortably?

Brad/ Cinema Snob is awesome, but I will admit I stopped watching his actual Snob reviews around the time his theme song changed (Believe it or not, I'm talking on air...). Around that time I was really preferring the old stuff, but not necessarily the oldest where the reviews were only 5 or so minutes, and going back to a few choice favorites.
DVD-R Hell is still a win for me, as are Midnight Reviews. Mostly.
The whole Jake debacle is pretty shit and no one deserves that from as close a friend as he was. I never liked Jared (Jarrid? Jared? Whatever). He was always unfunny. Case and point- him not knowing that Asperger's was a real term and preceding to have the most obnoxious laughing fit. Also he apparently made vulgar comments about Jillian to people at cons. If you get kicked off the team 2 or 3 times, you probably suck.
Someone mentioned that the Snob crew has a pretty odd dynamic since most of them have dated or been married and until this thread I just thought they were just really cool before they entered into relationships and somehow made it work afterwards. I kinda retract my thoughts. I never noticed any hostility or negativity when did reviews or when they had a giant Best/Worst of year end review.
As for Brad being catty and two-faced, I don't think anyone posted any "proof". I think Brad is very good at what he does and is very realistic but I don't think the man walks on water.
His new girlfriend is in some Midnight Reviews. I don't watch the ones with her, and I think it's a bad idea to have a girlfriend in the videos. I know he sometimes has random people like his mom or that other friend (Ryan, I think his name is. He looks vaguely Asian to me) but making your girlfriend a regular just seems like a bad idea.
I saw something that said Jillian stopped doing review because she didn't feel like doing it anymore. Fair enough. I don't think the two could have been on too terrible terms since Jillian did the new website back when and that was well after their divorce.
I checked on the site a while ago and I think there was a mention Jillian was sick and they were collecting donations for her care.
I have to say, the team seem to at least pretend to give a shit. I remember they raised money for Jake (pre-Rayne of course) to help him after he got into a care accident. I think they sold autographed DVD's of the Snob movie.

I used to watch some N-Chick. I think my last viewing was of her Addam's Family movie reviews and I liked them enough. Some of her stuff I really liked, like her crossovers with Todd and RapCritic.
I think the rumors about her sexing up all (but one...) TGWTG male is a bit crap. I don't think I've seen any "confirmation" or anything similar. And even if it's true, if it wasn't malicious and was more just one nighters or something I can't say that it's anyone's business aside from her and her partner(s). I dunno, personally I wouldn't do that and think it's a stupid idea but I don't support shaming her over it.
I never really liked when Nella and her other friend co-starred in her stuff, but I find Nella a good touch sometimes.

I really like ToddintheShadows. I watch all his stuff and think he's very funny and insightful enough for what he's doing. He's doing funny internet videos, I don't need a thesis level defense/trashing.
Someone mentioned one of his Worst Of reviews just being hate without description- and my defense is that because he's doing so many songs, he doesn't have the time to do a real review on every song. Especially since some of the songs on the Worst Of he already gave a proper review to and that has the real meat on it.
I don't really mind him being not-so-impartial on certain genres like nu-metal. I like his honesty that he flat out doesn't like it and isn't gonna BS some praise. Maybe he shouldn't do those types of songs, but I enjoy them.
I think he's pretty down to Earth and enjoys what he does.

I can't comment on N-Chick and Todd's politics. I don't have a twitter and I don't follow them on any social media so all I see are there reviews. I just don't know enough about their deals and what they're involved in (and no, I don't really know shit about Gamergate either).

I only watched a few of NC Avatar vlogs. They seemed alright enough. I just never saw his appeal and never felt the need to watch his stuff. His website is horrible.

Ashens is entertaining as can be and I'm glad he's about 0% related to TGWTG.
I do have to say though, he did do something fairly questionable. He sold "Ashens' Box" that was filled with some merchandise about him and the show. I saw a lot of backlash in the comments about how the merchandise looked like crap and this was a desperate cash grab. Still, that was one bump in the road.
I also heard the movie he crowdfunded and put out for free online was good, so that's nice (and it had Warwick Davis!) .

What boggles my mind is that people quit their day job for this. For some, like Brad, it makes some sense since he went to school for film and has always had a production ambition (Dave mentions he and Brad have been making movies since high school) so I could understand him really pushing to make this successful. As for a lot of the others, is screaming at a camera really that secure?
I think it was relatively soon after YouTube started their paid affiliates program TheArchfiend railed on the Irate Gamer about quitting his job to make videos since there was no contract and all of his income could vanish at any time.
Don't quit your day job. Let the Internet be a bonus (which I have to say, TheArchfiend was smart to do, at least back in the day).

TL;DR: I like some people. TGWTG has always been 90% unimpressive to me. It has a really bad website.

The Bluth video is just a Let’s Play of Dragon’s Lair, with making fun of all the times Critic dies. It reminds me of when he got Dante Basco for the “Best Avatar Episodes” video and they just chased each other through a book store. He said something to the amount of “fans want to see him as Zuko, I’m giving them that”. What a waste.

It also doesn't help that they put a link to a charity drive right above the Kickstarter link.

No wonder this movie didn't get funded. Are you really gonna fund a movie that's only halfway to its goal on the last day over feeding some starving kids? No. That's assuming if you even have money to give away to begin with.

In relation to Spoony, I really think he would benefit from looking at his own Ultima retrospective. Not only is it Spoony's best review series, but it's one of the best review series I've ever watched. Spoony had a passion and we see him decline as his favorite childhood games got fucked by EA. Now it's just sad. I still check his site every now and then, in hopes he actually made something entertaining like he used too. That's a pipe dream. It's been years since he last produced anything. Because I too would like to be paid $3000+ to sit on my ass and not produce any sort of content.

And here I thought he was going to review the Dragon's Lair cartoon series. That's more within his limited range than shoddy Let's Plays are.

Well, it is for The Salvation Army, who are controversial as Hell due to their views on homosexuality. You forget that most people who visit CA are SJWs as well as spergs now.

This happened in America, so they're aware of it and they made a big ol' fuss about it.
I just meant that, from the ones I know (including in person) some of them are oblivious to a lot of things and only seem to harp on one thing.

Well the Salvation Army hating the gays was one thing that TGWTG SJWs got on. I remember a thread on the forums getting derailed just to shit on them.

Has anyone heard of Marc Mues (AKA Mues Productions or just Mues)?
He got his start on YouTube before reviewing was huge, although he did mostly rants about music and eventually other stuff like wrestling.
He was on Reviewtopia before their doom and then went solo.
He currently has his own website where he does more videos about music (mostly albums and whatever is in the top 10 on Billboard at any given month), wrestling and he has an original series called Shitcoms where he and his fat friend do commentary over the first episode of whatever shitty sitcom they find.

I don't think any of his stuff, especially his OLD stuff, most of which I think was lost to YouTube violations and just moving around, would do much for everyone here, but he has grown from just RAGING at crap to doing some semblance of a review (oftentimes on crap).

His Shitcoms series isn't that great. I think I remember watching and liking an episode or two but most of them are bad. I also tend to think that him and his friend tend to get flat out mean spirited which I never got from others like Brad or Todd. Also generally not being funny or entertaining.

I remember he, TheArchfiend and Gineriella had somewhat of an alliance and they cameo-ed in a video for Mues once or twice. I think that soured, at least on Archfiend's end since I remember seeing a comment where someone asked if they were still friends/whatever and Archfiend was like 'fuck no'. Him and Rap Critic have done some crossovers and have been to a Con or two together.

He used to have an angry schtick but I think hes matured to be a bit less angry for the sake anger. But I do think he was doing it well before anyone was really making it a big thing. Again, I don't think anyone on here would really be into him, but I think you might find it interesting he's a bit of an Anti-SJW and heavily against censorship. But again again, I think most of you would find him whiny and otherwise uninteresting.

EDIT:
Forgot to mention, Mues also had some CA people do quick cameos in a video of his including the late Jew Wario.
Somewhat funnily, on TVTopes one of the tropes says that Mues is just an angry rip-off/variant of ToddintheShadows. However, I don't know off the top of my head if the two started making videos around the same time and that's what it's supposed to mean or if it's just a face value opinion.

Some guy named QuickSickFuck finally put together an ED article* on Hope Chapman and her boyfriend/leeching-center Zac Bertschy.

I appreciate the sentiment, but whoever QuickSickFuck is, they seem like too big aa try-harder to be judged as reliable when they're the only source.

I also get the distinct impression of a powerleveler from this one.

So, Doug proceeds to suck at Dragon's Lair. I liked the bits where Bluth talked about making the game, but Doug had that usual Let's Play attitude of over-exaggerating everything for the sake of humor (though, finding those items in 2 is BS). The promo at the end just felt lazy though, and too dependent on the viewer having seen his most recent commercials episode with Segata and Savage.

As for the commercials episode... I'm going to admit something. I thought the commercial episodes had overstayed their welcome before this episode, and had lost their spark. This episode was a major step in the right direction and I enjoyed myself, but I still think they're overstaying their welcome. Maybe if Doug could focus on getting the major WTF commercials it would be better, especially since he's now using commercials from outside of the US.

I grew up with those Canadian PSAs NC. Nut up or shut up.

Well, another reason why the project probably didn't get funded is that the money was going towards an animation test to try to sell the idea of a Dragon's Lair movie to a studio or big shot investor, not the movie itself. I love classic Don Bluth, but I find it hard to believe that there is a studio out there willing to pony up $70 million for a hand drawn feature adaptation of a 30 year old game that is remembered more than it is played, particularly if it is to be directed by a 78 year old man who hasn't directed a movie in 15 years, and who hasn't directed a good one in 25 years.
