Can someone with superior tech skills archive this video? It's really long but very worth preserving and there's a few... curious points. She says there were no fellowships in SRS so she 'travelled' to 'see' some done. What exactly she did to become qualified in SRS is anyone's guess (mine is, she self-funded a holiday and blagged her way into seeing some surgeries done). This is around the 3 min mark. Afterwards the host asks how she got to Miami and she says basically she wasn't a good employee and wanted to do things her own way. Again, suspicious and weird.

Also, her eyes are really far apart and her mouth is definitely fucked up.

I think it’s the eyes themselves that are creepy. They look like they don’t blink. I find her legitimately terrifying, in that I wouldn’t want to be alone in a room with her. Even though rationally I know she’s not physically threatening.

The story was picked up by 4W but because everyone involved was reluctant to share pictures of a 13 year old girl, no images were included with the news article. The young-looking girl with the self harm scars appeared on Gallagher’s social media shortly afterwards and a lot of people on Twitter conflated the two. They’re two different patients, but there was definitely at least one 13 year old and you can see all the evidence in that thread.

I mean... this wasn't the worst idea in the world, it's the execution that's mind-bogglingly bad. Lots of women worry about their genitals looking normal, it's not like women see a great many of other women's bits to compare. You can buy coffee table books just filled with vulvas that seek to do the same thing, to reassure by providing an example of the wide range of normal. It is, at least, a constructive and helpful impulse.

But. The whole set up of a series 'Is my patient normal?' is <shakes head>. She's just so socially awkward and tactless throughout the whole thing. As if she's struggling to speak human. I'm not that surprised as I imagine a lot of surgeons are a little weird (I could not, for example, merrily cut and paste with someone's body, but I am glad there are people who do) but for goodness sake know your strengths and weaknesses and don't try to be a public educator if you can't tell if something is super offensive or not.

After watching this it makes a lot of sense to me that she went into troon surgery. All those girls wanting their 'teets yeeted' are too busy worrying if they're acting like a bro to notice that someone else is trying hard to act like a human being.
