Sam Hyde

Sam calling the weightlifting bit at the end of Icuckzzz' video "mannish" as a subtle backhanded compliment was the funniest part. Other than that the clash between the nonsensical cartoonish slobbishness and almost corporate sounding canned praise for the little guy was like a methed out looney tunes bit with a deliberately incoherent punchline. Sam is definitely the bugs bunny to Ian's daffy duck in this whole affair.

not bad, hopefully Hyde doesn't piss it all away with unfunny boxing montages

Political comedy has never been good. No one fucking cares about anyone else's political ideologies, especially not when you're trying to promote troons raping little girls in the women's bathroom or banning abortion. Fuck all of that trash.
The only time it's funny is when you use politics to mess with people. Like when he hijacked the pride event.

The ideas of post-irony and meta-irony that iDubbbz talks about in the video were popularized in 2020 by political satire YouTuber Jreg:

...and Jreg put out a video today giving his thoughts on Ian's segment about irony:

Jreg's model of irony was layers stacked on top of each other, but iDubbbz made the circle model himself. Jreg also shows that a lot of iDubbbz's points in the segment were basically lifted from Jreg's video (he isn't mad, but he still points it out), and in general gives light critiques of how Ian handled it. "I don't think he understands meta-irony" lmao

My favourite part of the iDubbbz doco was when Sam told Ian 'Do you think that...are serious that I would date a girl that shaves her head like that? Do you think I'm a fucking mental case!?' Must've hit a bit too close to home.
>TFW you married a girl that shaves her head like that

I fucking thought that segment seemed familiar lmao holy shit

EDIT: After watching the video I don't like how it randomly veers into claiming idubbz is right about sam due to the "toss it campaign" skit from world peace saying the phrase "my race is done your inheriting the earth" when it's blatantly clear that line is a fucking overly exxagerated parody of "anti discrimination" marketing campaigns that blow smoke up their ass but get literally nothing done aside from promoting the victimization mindset. There's literally shit where some of them outright talk about how white people becoming a minority would somehow be a good thing but of course this is now real super serious politics time so anything said in a parody of shit that says things like that but more elaborately than the parody's blunt less PR friendly version doesnt mean that but is ASXKUALLY SAMMY WAMMY DOING A NONO BADDIE ALT RIGHT NAZI PROPAGANDA SHOW!
Bluh bluh, this is fucking shit. shame too because the video started out promising.

I think Sam has said on PGL that he pokes fun at Rogan and Jocko because they are guys who put forward advice to their audience of young men who live under circumstances that either make the advice useless or even actively harmful to them. Obviously, I think it's fair to say that Sam is also guilty of this in his own way, so if he feels guilty about that he could be displacing that onto Joe. It might not be as simple as that because Sam also expresses affection for Joe sometimes as well.

Yep. He points out Jocko wakes up at like 4am and goes on a run every day and then goes to the gym for the rest of the day or whatever his weird routine and diet is. Normal people can't do that.
Sam bought some leg machine (I think it was some rehab machine) that Rogan had talked about, I think he was sponsored to say it and it was over a grand and didn't do anything but squeeze your legs. Sam's takeaway was the average Rogan listener can't just go out and try this crap he quasi sells and see if it works. I could be misremembering this one. Or maybe it was some female UFC fighter.

The newest PGL at Nick's house was pretty good. Nick was talking about eating finance guys eyeballs who come into his dealership in great detail or Mark Cuban crushing some grandma's entire, it gets to a point where I can't tell if it's a bit. Maybe that's the point. Sam seems to have no problem spending money on whatever he wants - Nick brought up Sam buying an old Dodge Ram Cummins with a manual and he recently bought a red Firebird that's pretty well built.
They both fit the normal diesel truck guy stereotypes though - driving a heavy duty truck to the office and both admitting they don't tow anything and never use the bed.

they don't tow anything and never use the bed.

I actually found that upsetting because there’s a million fucking things you can use your truck’s bed for beyond towing your four wheeler or snow mobile to the spot. Here in NH if you don’t have something in your bed you might as well own one of those faggot non trucks like a ridge line or explorer. Shame he let the raptor go to waste, I could have used one for some stumps last year

Well in his defense I don't think the Raptor was a serious truck. I remember the frames bending when they were used off-road and they'd end up with like a 5 inch gap between the bed and cab.
NH and is very different than RI and southern Mass and that's all I'll say.

Don't mean to double post but he's doing another merch run it seems

In other news….water is wet……

You should not have to explain layers of irony.

That makes it unfunny. And you might as well do pratfalls or puns at that point.
