Do they still do GO! or VS?

That's a pair of series that might be kinda cool to see come back, they wouldn't even really need to come up with new ideas for it either since the old ideas with new people could be good.
I don't think they've done one for a LONG time. It's much easier to keep playing the same tired old games over and over and over and over again instead of actually being the tiniest bit creative and coming up with some challenges to do in different games. Plus, I assume nobody in the office wants to record them, cause they're lazy.

I remember when Ray was on OffTopic years ago, Jack mentioned that he had a few episodes of GO! planned out and ready to film, but nobody wanted to shoot them so he eventually gave up on it. That's sad if anything.

GO! at least required some amount of creativity but VS really didn't since it was just someone coming up with a challenge. Shame though, would be nice to see the new crop forced to interact like that since those two shows really allowed for a lot of personality and individualism from the contestants.

I think I said it before in a different comment, but a good idea AH could do is collab with a group of black creators and use the opportunity to bring back GO! and VS and have the two groups play against each other and make a competition out of it.

It would bring the diversity they are so desperate for and the videos would bring in lots of views, seeing how those are some of the most beloved series they've done, plus a massive change of pace from endless GTA, TTT and Minecraft. Who am I kidding tho, that's too much work to set up for these schmucks.

10$ that, even with all those black streamers, Ky will still be the loudest.

Do these idiots realize they play video games for a living?

Ugh, you mean I have to play a video game for 10 minutes to an hour so our company can record content? No thanks, I'll pass.

It's not like they were being asked to move somebody from a two bedroom four story walk-up to another apartment without an elevator. You would have to play video games on an XBOX or maybe even a PlayStation.

The horror.

Frankly that attitude is what leads to the current doldrums they're in, it's a total Catch 22 though. If you're not having fun and bouncing off each other then the content is gonna blow, so don't play games that you aren't enthusiastic for. At the same time you need to constantly be trying to find new stuff or else you wear yourself down into a constant cycle of three or four games that you really like.

I can't imagine being that lazy and stupid tbh. Like I'm sure Minecraft/TTT/GTA5 is a mandated thing that's unavoidable but why wouldn't you want to do something different? Is playing those 3 games for 8+ hours a day for content really that appealing? Oh wait I guess they throw in a Flavor of the month coop game too. About a year late on RAFT but hey its something different I guess. Looking forward to GTFO in 2024.

VS was great because it broke up the monotony. You never knew what game someone was gonna bring to the table. One of my favorite VS' was when Jack faced off against Ray in a contest of who could get a plush out of a claw machine first.

Also, Jack has seniority so why doesn't he just, ya know, say get the fuck up were doing this? Gotta act like a boss sometimes, ya know? Though wait, I forgot if Gavin doesn't think something is fun he acts like a faggot and tries to ruin everything.

I don't think a single AH member has ever been taken seriously "as a boss" in the history of the company. Geoff and Jack are both unfit to play the leader, one is an ex-drunk who cries when forced to count how many times he said the N word, the other is proud of being a descendant of one of the first families in Texas.

Tangent on Funhaus, they are back down to 1.5mil subscribers. Never would I have imagined such a fall from grace, even without the Adam stuff. I actually don't think that, if Adam was still around, the group would have improved.

The whole Go/VS thing is a lot like how grocery stores will make sure to carry niche items that are a pain in the ass to deal with and sell like shit and make up an infinitesimal portion of their business compared to like Milk™ or Bread™, because they know that people can get their Milk™ and Bread™ from any of the billion other places selling them, and that each niche product captures a handful of reliable customers who will go out of their way to patron the store just for the niche thing they care about or for simple variety's sake, getting their Milk™ and Bread™ in the process too. AH management tunnel visioned on the big numbers that their milk and bread, Minecraft and GTA, brought in compared to everything else, and essentially took for granted the core audience/community that any healthy channel needs to sustain itself.

Granted, youtube's algorithm did turn to punishing entire channels for having any content that under performs, but considering they're still actively telling their dwindling core audience to fuck off over the slightest hint of criticism, it's obvious they just don't care or know what they're doing.

Or probably "Nobody besides Geoff can think of interesting ideas/Geoff doesn't want to play and just wants to host". I remember a lot of people thinking the winner of GO seasons or whatever should have became the host, ever revolving challenges and not just "LolRayWins". Of course they mentioned and mocked that. If it doesn't come from them directly it's a dumb idea.

Gavin's so weird, he's either one of the best in their videos or one of the worst, rarely in-between.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if no one wanted to do the GO! episodes that Jack had lined up specifically because they were thought up by Jack, I know I wouldn't. I mean look at what happened to their Minecraft shit after Ryan stopped being the tech guy in charge of shit and Jack took that over, that was the final nail in the coffin for those I feel since that's when it became nothing but mod after mod after mod. It could also allow for greater community outreach and fan involvement by asking fans for ideas for GO! episodes and taking the best ones alongside coming up with your own.

As far as VS goes it really does become an issue if one guy is just an order of magnitude better at video games than everybody else like Ray was and so a rotating host tournament set up would probably be good but that would also come with it's own set of problems namely that some people just don't make good hosts. Ultimately it should be fine though.

I think that Gavin is secretly good at video games but he just doesn't care enough to try and he realizes that being the stupid one has always been his schtick, also keep in mind that he was blasted half the time in early episodes on top of the fact that he's just generally kind of a cunt.

Hell just give me an occasional video of them talking about some of their favorite/hardest achievements with accompanying video clips. Or pick a game and say "The first person to get X Achievement wins", it'd solve trying to figure out challenge ideas. Then again I have no idea if they care about achievements at all anymore.

If anything, the one thing I miss from AH is their original purpose, achievement/collectable guides. I thought they were pretty well done and I followed a few of them back when they used to make them. I miss Fails of the Weak as well, I always used to tune in and watch each new episode. That series introduced me to AH back in 2011-2012 and it's sad to see it be pretty much forgotten.

Compared to the hyper autists on websites dedicated to achievements, AH cannot pump up guides even remotely close to fast enough.

You don't even have to include text guides, there are plenty of people who do video guides like AH used to do, but much better. For just one example, Halo Completionist has pumped out 60 videos on Halo Infinite since it came out about two months ago, and by my count has covered about 90 of the 119 achievements. He's also a one-man operation to my knowledge, records and edits everything himself. And that's without including the hundreds of other videos he's made covering pretty much every Halo game released.

If they wanted to, AH could designate even a couple people on their oversized team to produce achievement guides and at least somewhat justify their name. But considering the average skill level of everyone in that office, that would be pretty much guaranteed to fail.

Not only that, everyone there strikes me as pretty lazy and content with where they are right now, especially the remaining OG members. It's much easier to spend an hour or two playing GTA and editing it down to 30-40 mins than it is to research and plan out a series of achievment guides (which by itself is piss easy to do already).

You are right on the money. Gavin at this point is the one that I would say has the most expertise in Halo achievements, so he would likely be the best person to go in and figure out how to easily or quickly obtain ones in the new Halo just from having so much experience with the MCC, but could you ever imagine trying to get him to do it? The problem is that, behind the scenes, these people are not fit to run or be part of a decidedly corporate channel. They treat the entire thing as if this is just something they do for fun instead of a business that needs certain commitments even when you don't feel like it. There is a balance you have to strike, but RT is almost wholesale in the realm of 'for fun only' while pretending that being a functional business only requires having 'LLC' at the end of your name.
