These people don't consider that's why they haven't brought the hammer down, you want images of cops beating women and kids up?

Isn't Quebec French his first language? I seem to remember him claiming he identified as a Quebecker over a Canadian lol. Also explains all the ums when he speaks English lol
Someone correct me if I'm wrong
It's as @Emperor Pupienus says in their post (quoted below), Justin is far less French Québécois than his surname suggests.
Justin Trudeau can fluently speak French, but I don't know if it would be right to consider Justin Trudeau a fullblown francophone Quebecker. Justin's father, Pierre Elliot Trudeau, was himself only half-Québécois; Elliot is part of a double-barreled surname, his Anglo mother's maiden name. Justin Trudeau's mother, Margaret Sinclair, is 0% Québécois. Literally speaking, his mother tongue is English, since his mother is an anglophone. Justin is only 1/4th Québécois, 3/4ths Anglo. You could say that Justin Trudeau is like the pure laine Quebecker equivalent of a quadroon.
Francophones frequently comment on his French and his accent which is typical of an Anglophone who imitates the Radio Canada accent and occasionally sprinkles some token Joual expressions on top (ben voyons!). It's quite a distinct accent and can be summed up as follows: 60% français normatif, 30% accent québécois, 10% accent canadien anglais. He also employs this convenient work around-students of the French language take note-of leaning on « on est en train de [verb]» in lieu of using a more specific and precise conjugation.

In this video from his college days, you can clearly hear that French is not his mother tongue.

Even French-French poke fun at his accent:

While I trust the math, I don't think a ticker starts the moment the road is blocked. The lost revenue comes from factories and stores not receiving the materials/products they need. Most factories have a stock of raw material for at least a day. If a truck is 12 hours late, no harm no foul. If it's 48 hours late, now there's a chance the factory is down and you hemorrhage money.
That's the point, money talks, if the parties in charge can't figure out a way to resolve this issue before it becomes incredibly expensive, they have another time bomb to deal with. I'm pretty sure defusing a bomb is best done in an irrational, emotionally charged, childish way, but who said liberals make good bomb experts.

The geography of the area also means it's not an impossibility this is going to crop up at the Niagra crossing too. After that the only viable crossing is the Thousand Islands bridge, and if THAT goes...well, that's pretty much the ball game.

There sure are alot of Nazis in Canada apparently.
It feels like a glacier moving at this point, the path is inevitable. Especially with the border crossings, the police presence causes as much disruption as the truckers. It's not coincidence that the blockades are spreading. Crack down on one, two more appear.

This guy is a very energetic public speaker.

He is getting a lot of "hear hears" for dissing leadership. He went on about how Canadians DO NOT have the right to blockade and freedoms are limited by when others freedoms begin, and so on
"The SEIZURE of an international crossing"
"rule of law"
"Mr. Speaker, it's time we got serious"

This guy has a middle aged woman haircut and says the same stuff about how freedom needs limits, but in french. Also something about how some people might think throwing rocks at an ambulance is "freedom"View attachment 2966274
Garon should have been drop kicked at some point in his life. May have made him into a decent person.

This can vary based on the factory or store, but JIT told all the companies that keeping stock in general is a horrible idea due to real estate. Most factories as a result have a week at best of stock.

femboy starts out with saying he could not disagree more

This guy is dissing the protests as having "lost focus" and also they are dumb because America has vaccine requirement to cross the border, and it's a providential issue anyway.
"I saw a protester shove a camera in a clerks face and say YOU CAN'T MAKE ME WEAR A MASK"
They are harassing random store clerks! They are bringing their fight to random citizens of Ottawa!
"The protesters don't realize that the people they are affecting most are the people who live in Ottawa"
He's now framing the rest of those in the room like they are ignorant of the pain of the citizens of Ottawa. Soundbite fisher.
"They've made their point it's time for them to go home"

This man is so angry.

Good to see Canada has downy representation in parliament

Speaking of the Niagra Falls crossing. Looks like something is going down.

I got a contract there at the end of the month on the New York side. I know that's a long time to wait, but if this roadblock becomes a thing and is still extant in three weeks, I'm tempted to stop by and post pics to the forum. Only time will tell...

They sincerely believe their own press. They think they are in a position of strength. They think they have the ability and will to force their authority onto people who do not wish it. They are about to be disproven.

Expect lots of pouting and crying over the next week or so as these "strong measures" go over like a wet fart in church.

Sounds like a good idea until you realize they have to drag them 20 miles clear of the city. You ever seen a glowing red hot drum from a dragging brake before? Ever seen a set of dual semi tires catch fire before? It's pretty nuts.

Crispy trucks lining the roads out of town isn't a workable solution. You need proper tow trucks for the job. They don't have them. Even if they did it doesn't mean they have free access to the truck to tow them. Nor does it mean that they have the ability to stop other trucks from doing the same thing elsewhere.

Give up towbros. It will not work.
Could they gin up some injunction that lets them steal the keys for the trucks and have their own goons drive them out of the city?

Of course. I'm just saying I don't think quick and dirty math will get us anywhere close to the actual cost of the blockade. Especially if it's raw material because you aren't losing the trade value, you are losing the value of the end product not being produced in Canada due to the shortage.

And every police resource spent corralling truckers is a cop that doesn't respond to the robbery call at the gas station or the car accident down the street or the vandalism at your neighbor's house since the police physically can't be there.
