Canadian Truckers Convoy 2022 - The Leaf calls you a Nazi as he gasses you

I'm behind on the Emergency Parliament debate stream now because of a phone call (and explaining what I was doing was an interesting and long conversation, lol)
I was going to say earlier I don't think this many people have ever paid this much attention to Canadian politics - especially non-Canadians lol. How many of us have ever watched a fucking parliament stream? I'm gonna guess <1%
This is probably a layer of the freakout. Everyone is watching this to see what they say/do.

Rental truck accidents are rather common for a reason

I'm behind on the Emergency Parliament debate stream now because of a phone call (and explaining what I was doing was an interesting and long conversation, lol), but this dude was doing some good old basic COVID fear mongering
"Alberta cases are up"
View attachment 2966496
The importance of encouraging vaccination, etc, etc

"My father was a truck driver"
It really grates my gears... something about the tone this guy has when he says "our essential workers"
blah blah blah, front line workers of the pandemic
Vaccinated people use up all the hospitals
"You do NOT have the right to shut down critical infrastructure"
"The harm and distruption caused is NOT right, and every member of this house should be calling for them to go home!"
"If you're one of the good ones: go home"
View attachment 2966519
"How do you negotiate with them? It's mob rule right now"
"It's time that the police use their discretion so this situation can be wound down"

"We need to do what is right to exit this pandemic so we can return to uh, what I would call a new normal, but a normal we would want to see"
View attachment 2966543
"The way out of this pandemic is through vaccination."
"many people have commented on twitter THIS OCCUPATION MUST END"
"If they want to protest on the sidewalk, God bless them, that's their sacred right"
"THIRTY FIVE THOUSAND CANADIANS HAVE DIED FROM COVID"
"The government has had the backs of Canadians for TWO years and have invested millions of dollars for vaccines and stuff"
"They need to go home. They NEED to bring this to an end. The people of Ottawa deserve that."
"Blockades must end." (he says this about 10 times)
"I believe in SCIENCE"
"I have faith in what they say [scientists?]. They may not be perfect."
This is not about trucking mandates. It's not about that. We need to exit COVID19, NOT anything else. We need to keep Canadians safe. That's what we need to be doing. Not meeting with protestors who hold up AWFUL plaquards. Who don't respect the rule of law. Who don't respect the citizens of Ottawa to get a good night sleep and for their families to be safe and feel safe."...[and COVID19 is affecting us deeply blah blah blah blah pandemic response actions, I'll be the first to say that I want to go to a big wedding oh they want me to wrap it up now]
And again, they keep pretending they don’t understand what the protesters’ demands are, and they keep thinking they are in charge. Amazing. “Go home! Don’t make me tell you to go home one more time!”

"my very stressed out cat"

Oh, did a vet confirm that, or are you projecting your emotions onto your animal? My dumbass dog eventually learned not to piss himself when he heard fireworks. You cat probably got used to the noise after a few days, but is stressed out from you constantly crying and screaming. Like get absolutely HONKED. I hope your cat pukes in your shoes.

"If you're one of the good ones: go home"

Nah, bud.
Honk honk.

Who is bud and why is he so important I'm a little off on the knowledge.
Budd Dwyer, though the poster who mentioned him is kind of reaching for comparisons.

Dwyer was a state treasurer in Pennsylvania who got framed by his political enemies for embezzlement and was convicted. Rather than go to jail for a crime he didn't commit, he called a press conference, where he committed suicide shooting himself in the face.

Filter wrote a song about him (Hey Man Nice Shot); which has it's own story to it. It was written by Richard Patrick, who was part of Nine Inch Nails as one of the studio/touring musicians that Trent Reznor employed for NIN.

Patrick wrote the song and pitched it to Reznor, who offered to record it... but ONLY if Patrick ceded all claim to the song and allowed Reznor to claim HE wrote it, not Richard. Patrick declined and ultimately quit NIN and formed Filter, with the song being the lead single from their first album.

I fully agree that their behavior is falling further and further into straight cult shit, but at the same time, their masks slip so often and they reveal what they are underneath that I can't help but wonder if their belief is just an act.

I think the group is made up of various people. Some who are true believers, some who simply go with whats trendy or expedient, some who like the power that the establishment offers, and some who are too scared to say anything else out of fear of being socially ostracized (or worse).

If they're not planning on leaving tonight that's bad news for the supply chain. I'm still of the mind that I want to see store shelves empty before I'll believe the protesting is affecting the supply chain, but today's events definitely bring that just a little bit closer to becoming reality.

Everyone and their dead ancestors are protesting right now. And by "everyone", I really, wholeheartedly mean, everyone.

People in Buenos Aires aren't happy.

Oh, and let's not forget the protests that are happening in Lübeck and more than 2000 other cities in Germany.

How do you say "domino effect" in the major European languages?

seriously as a kid I had a couple of homes of Canadia expats in my neighborhood and used to work at a radio station where I had to monitor a refeed of Morning Drive Chat Show out of Canada
this past week or two is more fucks than I have ever heard anybody giving any fucks about Canada excluding South Park, SCTV, and Kids In The Hall

lol come and try it you quadruple nigger faggots. Saves me a bit of cash on this week's trip to the range.

Are you fucking serious? You should not be even remotely concerned about this. There is no fucking way the United States government (or any state government) would extradite an American citizen to a foreign nation for making a legal donation to a legal fundraising organization operating lawfully in the United States.

Yeah even the most pozzed lefties would start questioning that position it's are job to rule the world not Canada.
"My freedom includes a society that believes in vaccines and science"
I know it's super faggy to reference 1984 but do these people just not understand what the word freedom means? Do they not understand the concept? How the fuck does that statement make any sense?

I mean because they think freedom means security. The European elites and to a lesser degree Canadian elites have drilled into the public that a safe society is a free society. To them these people never have done any unstructured activity or hands on work really. You can tell with these people that they don't understand their own cognitive dissonance.
And every police resource spent corralling truckers is a cop that doesn't respond to the robbery call at the gas station or the car accident down the street or the vandalism at your neighbor's house since the police physically can't be there.

I mean liberals in America should have learned that defending the police in 2020/2021 led to a wave of record crime and in Portland while the city was protesting and antifa are trying to burn down the station they're suddenly seeing a rise in gang crime and other crime that has never been seen before in the city.
