McGinn centers herself in her marketing because she represents a dream result for all the late transitioners seeking her services. Before transition, Chris McGinn was a frat boy and a Navy surgeon and married a woman — typical AGP. The marriage fell apart when he began transitioning in his late 20s, but everything came up roses: he found another woman, fathered twins with frozen sperm, breastfed the babies, had another child by surrogate, became one of the most popular and well regarded surgeons in his field, and through it all passed as a conventionally pretty (if somewhat altered) woman to the unsuspecting eye. Naturally her patients are enthralled by her. If McGinn can have it all, they imagine it's also possible for them.

Of course, the reality is that like 95% of late transitioners won't end up as happy as McGinn, who happens to be both exceptionally driven and exceptionally lucky. Most men pursuing transition don't have 1) naturally handsome features that lend themselves well to feminization and 2) a pile of $$$$ to fund a raft of extreme facial surgeries. But the whole trans fantasy selects for people practiced in wishful thinking, so the dream lives on until they've followed all the rituals, arrived at the end of the road, and realized that no path will take them to the paradise in their minds.
Some are able to pretend happiness longer than others, though. I wonder how long Erin will be satisfied by the neovagina before agonizing about face and body dysphoria again.
